*Laynie gets a bit fed up by Vanitri's response.*
"So what, are you telling me that the Vanitri I know was going to just stop caring about me once I stopped being a little girl? Frankly, if I didn't have the evidence right here, I wouldn't believe it. Stop being so emo, Vanitri--at least you're alive and with friends who can help. It could be much worse. And I also don't like your entitlement complex. 'Right now we do need each other's help' you say, and then you treat us like crap. But that's not true. You need my help Vanitri Duskrider. I'm not affected by it. I don't need help from you. But I want to help my dear friend. But if you're going to treat me like this, maybe I should just forget it. Look, you've been mumbling about a fantasy world created by the Crux--now you're totally loony there and a bit paranoid, but if I'm a figment of such a world, what's the point of going to another room? The Crux will hear you anywhere, and the fake characters in its world can react accordingly. On the other hand, I'm really Laynie, and you're the man who rescued me when I was little...I love you like a...well something, and I want to help you get better. You may not believe that, but you'd be a bigger fool than I think if you didn't at least admit that it was possible. In your doomsday scenario, you gain nothing by secrecy. In the other scenarios, including the correct one where you lost your memory, you lose much from distancing yourself from allies and hiding information. Plus you made poor Kiara cry, and I've almost never seen that sweet and noble woman cry before..."
*Tears welling in her own eyes, Laynie calms down and comes off her tirade, catching her breath.*
