Tell me about Tampa and Florida

Alsih2o, would you be setting up a kiln and everything like you have at your place currently? If somebody has any idea what the zoning restrictions might be in that area for a kiln, that might be relevant. :)

Tampa has a decent amount of art galleries, but it is not a huge thing there. Sarasota (where I live), however, has a large art community that is constantly growing. Sarasota is about an hour South of South Tampa/Brandon/Plant City and surrounding areas, about an hour and a half from lakeland on a good traffic day. Lakeland also has a very nice game/comic store, one of the best stores this side of Orlando, the Fantasy Factory.

I have lived in the Tampa/Plant City and now Sarasota area for arounf 15 years, so if ya got any more specific ?? let me know. You can email me too at me (at) neurozombie (dot) com

Really?? I'll have to check that out sometime :)

The best thing about Fantasy Factory, is that they carry all of the major gaming lines, not just D20. They also have a significant backstock of OOP games (the store has been around longer than I have been playing, i.e. over 17 years), usually at a very big discount.

I know little beyond what my mother tells me. She lives in Ruskin which is south I believe of Tampa.

Crime is an issue and many people are down on life there. Many attractions there or nearby including the nifty mantatees. Once you see the Mangroo forests you'll see why I think jungle adventures are the best.

Oh and the Florida state bird is the misquito.

Baby-boomer exodus

Tampa and Florida are where rich old baby-boomer canadians go in the winter to escape the chill.

No I'm not bitter. They are known as "Snowbirds", which is also the name of the our acrobatic airforce team.

on the gaming front, there's also thhe Comic Club in Brandon. The owners are real nice and the have a good stock of gaming stuff. That's also the site of the first Tampa gameday. :D
I got into a gaming group there, so there are operunities to be found in the region, game wise.

On the general living front, Lakeland is nice. It's got more stuff going on then a lot of places in the area, but isn't in the city. I was staying in Zepherhill's when i was down there, now that place is bland. :(
