Tell me about your D&D group

How long has your group been playing together?

The current core group has been playing together regularly since about 2002; before that, several of the guys I've been gaming with since 1996.

Unsure of ages, but age range is from late 20's to late 30's, all male; 7 players total.
Professions are all in the Information Technology field, from mom-and-pop computer techs, to System Admins.

What edition are you playing?
We are alternating between 3.5 D&D and 4e D&D.

Not only is this a fascinating social experiment looking at the make up of a game groups but will be very helpful for my project. I'll come back and tell you what I am working on Monday.

Thanks so far for all the great information so far! :D

There is still time to participate so keep them coming.
Wait! If we have your attention, how should one pronounce the words Eladrin & Ghaele? I mussst knoowwww!!!

;)

But really... how?

('Cause I like El'drin & Gale like a wind... but I'd rather know the correct way)

Honestly, this thread has been an surprisingly interesting. Thanks everyone for keeping it on topic and informative.

Er . . . except me just now I suppose.

I'm always a bit suprised at the age and professional seriousness of ENWorld posters in general.

Errr... which sounds like a bit of a backhanded compliment at best, but I'm actually just sayin'.

How long has your group been playing together?

On and off for about 7yrs

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?

(M)Me: 31/ programmer
(M)Player A: 28/ system analyst
(F)Player B: 26/Project Manager
(M)Player C: 19/college freshman
(M)Player D: 17/high school

What edition are you playing?
None right now, we have been playing Changeling the Lost since ending 4e and if/when we go back to a d20 game it will probably be Star Wars Saga ed. They actually like SW Saga ed. better than 3.5 or 4e as far as WotC games go, and I think the latest SW books have blown D&D out of the water as far as bang for buck.

My players wanted to either switch back to 3.5 or play Castles & Crusades for our D&D fix. As of right now, I will try to run 4e again for them in the distant future...but I played a game and wasn't to impressed myself.

I am doing little impromptu questionnaire cross posted from here and could use your help. :D

Tell me:

What edition are you playing?

Thanks

A few people have come and gone over the years, but the main group has been playing together for almost 10 years.

32, M, lobster fisherman/landscaper
32, F, disaster clean-up supervisor
30, M, technical support analyst
30, M, programmer/analyst / university lecturer
just under 30, F, resident care worker / geriatric assistant

For completeness, recent departees include 32, M, technical support analyst (2); 29, F, technical support trainer/quality assurance reviewer; 30-ish, F, technical support analyst

We're currently playing 3.5, but when this campaign ends, we'll be starting a 4E one.

How long has your group been playing together?

I guess I'd trace my current group back to late 2000 / early 2001, at the advent of D&D. Three of us had been playing games together since the late 90's.

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?

4 males, 2 females, all between mid-20's and late 30's. Professions are lawyer, engineer, security, student, retail management and video journalist.

What edition are you playing?

4th Edition D&D is our game of the moment, with Mutants & Masterminds and Call of Cthulhu waiting on the side. I don't really have an interest in DMing earlier editions of D&D at this time.
