How long has your group been playing together?
The core five players have been playing since 1985, so 23 years.

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?
All male, all 38 or 39 years old. Two work in IT, two are teachers, one works in social services.

What edition are you playing?
Upgraded faithfully from red box to AD&D, 2nd Ed. to 3.5; with campaigns running for many years. Playtested 4e, but no plans to switch anytime soon.

--------
Must say I'm quite surprised that there are so many players well past their teens. At 30something, it seems one is well within in the middle age-bracket of players - whudathunk? But then ENWorld probably has a built-in bias, right?

Only live group at the moment is my family. I've been playing with my kids for about six years. Our ages are 35, 37, 12, 11, 9 and 8. Currently we are using 3e and the Pathfinder Beta rules and expect to stick with Pathfinder for a while.

Am also playing in 6 PbP at the moment and all 6 use either 3.5 or Pathfinder.

I am doing little impromptu questionnaire.

How long has your group been playing together?

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?

What edition are you playing?

How long: Since 1990. At that time it was two groups. 1) My son and his friends as teenagers, and 2) my adult friends. I merged the groups after dropouts around 2000.

Gender: All male,
DM (ie. me) 61 - Mainframe CICS support
Players:
54 - Mainframe VTAM support
49 - Mainframe MVS developer
35 - Web developer
35 - Report writer (Excel and VB)
35 - IT support at local University
33 - Electrician

Edition: Pathfinder RPG Beta rules and will continue after they become final. As an FYI, this is a "I'm too old and grumpy to learn a new system (4E) and I'm the DM, so we do it my way" and "We don't want to spend more money when we have all these 3.5 books and adventures still to play". It is not a "hate 4E" reason.

Legend
My group is sort of split; we play on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons, but some people only come for Thursdays, others only come for Saturdays, and a couple of us show up for both. We've been playing together in one incarnation or another for about five years now, although we've had a lot of people come and go. Currently we have four old members (one Thursday-only, one Saturday-only, two both) and four relatively new ones (two Thursday-only and two Saturday-only).

We're all male, in our late twenties to early thirties. Professions:

Software developer (me; Thursday [DM] and Saturday)
Software support specialist (Vayden; Thursday and Saturday [DM])
Human resources "employee development manager" (Thursday only)
Radio Shack franchise owner (Thursday only)
Radio Shack employee (Thursday only)
Unemployed (Saturday only)
Market analyst (Saturday only)
? (Saturday only - he's new, don't know much about him yet)

Both segments are playing 4th Edition D&D and have no plans to change any time soon. (Other games we've played include Aberrant, 3.5E, and Iron Heroes.)

Early forties, male, restaurant worker
Early teens, male, middle school student

Winding down a 3.5 campaign, preparing to play a 4e campaign, talk of a '3.75' campaign in the future. A few of us are eager to play 4e, most of the rest are at least willing.

------------

I'd also consider myself a member of the 'online player group,' but it has been particularly difficult to find opportunities lately.

Current group as a whole: Since June. My girlfriend has been gaming with me since 2003 at the release of 3.5; the rest of them have joined over the course of the past three years.

All of us (except one, denoted with an asterisk) work in the Casino industry. We're split into two groups with significant overlap, so I'll list all of us here.

33/M/Casino Cashier
32/M/Slot Attendant
32/F/Loan Officer*
28/M/Slot Technician
27/M/Table Games Dealer
25/F/Buffet Supervisor
25/M/Cage & Credit Supervisor (Myself)
23/M/Cage & Credit Supervisor
23/F/Casino Cashier

Playing 4e since about November of last year when I cobbled together a pre-pre-preview from SWSE and Book of 9 Swords stuff. After about 8 variations, I'm kinda struck by how similar my preview stuff turned out to be.

My current group is fairly recently formed. The first four people listed below have been playing together for about 1 year, and the next 3 have joined in the last 3 months. All ages (besides my own...) are estimates.

We're playing D&D 4E and are thoroughly enjoying it, although we play a wide variety of RPGs. For me, this is the first time I've played any version of D&D since 1E in 1982 (26 years ago!)

I currently have two groups, although group 1 meets much less often nowdays due to us living in several different cities.

Group 1
Gaming together since 1990
Consists of:
male 34, PhD in Neuroscience, professor at a university (me)
male 34, BA in engineering, works for Boeing
female 33, BA in computer networking, works for AG Edwards
female 32, working on MS in cognitive neuroscience (my sister)
male 32, BA in Philosophy and English, publicist for Bass Pro Shops
female 31, BA in Social Science, works as a case worker for the state
male 32, BA in History, works for Chase

This group has played D&D 2e, 3e, 3.5, homebrew systems, Savage Worlds, WHFRP2, Deadlands, and 4e. We're loving 4e, and not going back to earlier editions of D&D (in fact, even mentioning 3.x D&D draws boos and hisses from them). We meet about once per 5-6 weeks for a weekend of gaming at one of our houses (about 24-30 hours of total gaming).

Group 2
Gaming together for about 6 months
Consists of:
male 34, PhD in Neuroscience, professor at a university (me)
male 37, part owner of FLGS
male 37, works as a publicist for Bass Pro Shops (different guy than the one above)
male 25, beef rancher
male 26, works at FLGS
male 30, works at FLGS

This group is playing 4e D&D, Spycraft 2.0, Savage Worlds Star Wars, and Savage Worlds Deadlands. We have a rotating schedule, so we all get a chance to play. We meet once per week for about 4-6 hours.
