I am involved with 3 groups currently.

Group number 1
We have been playing together as a group for nearly seven years.
Me: Male, 39 software tester.
Male, 31 or 32. He is software developer. (He and I used to work together. He actually helped me get my current job) I have known him for nine years.
Female, 28, full time house wife and mother of three with number four on the way. She is married to the software developer.
Current DM Male, 37 works at a hospital. I have actually been gaming with him for around ten or eleven years.
Female, age unknown. (I know she is older than I am but I have never asked her.) She is a school teacher and she is married to the 37 year old male. Like her husband, I have been gaming with her for ten or eleven years.
Female, age unknown. Early 30’s I think. She has more than one job.

We are playing 3.5 with no plans to switch to 4th edition.

Group number 2
We have been playing together for three years.
Male early 30’s. He works for a cement company. He is very talented guy. He makes AWESOME terrain.
Female early 30’s. Housewife, and mom of three. She is married to the guy that works the cement company.
DM, Male early 20’s. I have dice older than he is! I’m not sure what he does for a living but he gets to travel all over the world. He has been to the Middle East and is currently in Australia.
Female, early 20’s. I have dice older than she is! She is married to the DM and she works for a cement company.
Male, early 30’s. He is graduate student and works in lab.

We are playing 3.5 with no plans to switch to 4th edition. Currently, we are in Necromancer Games “City of Brass.” We started out with a heavily modified “Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil”

Group number 3

We have been playing together for around six months. This was an open game at FLGS that I joined on whim and I have enjoyed it every much. I have become friends with the other players but I really don’t know that much about their lives outside of the game.

DM, Male, late 20’s. Works at a food processing plant.
His son. He is around 8.
Male, early to mid 20’s. He works for the state group home.
Male, early to mid 20s’. Works with the DM.
Male, 39. I don’t know what he does for a living. His son played with us once but he wanted to play 4th edition so he dropped out.
Male, early 40’s. I don’t know what he does for a living. I think that he is a salesman and likely a pretty good one.

We are playing 3.5 with plans of possible going to 4th edition, although if we do, we will likely lose at least two of the “geezers”. (Me and the guy in his early 40’s)

I am doing little impromptu questionnaire cross posted from here and could use your help. :D

PS

How long has your group been playing together?

Three of us met in 2000 when 3e came out. Since then we’ve lost and gained various other players.

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?

Ages: I’m 39. I’m a little fuzzy on everyone else. I think only one of us is older than me, and I think we’re all over 30.

Genders: six male, three female

Professions: I’m an “embedded software engineer”. One guy does iPhone telephone tech support. A few of us work in customer service for a tech company. One guy works in a restaurant. I’m not sure exactly what the rest do.

What edition are you playing?

Marvel SuperHeroes (the FASERIP edition).

Last D&D campaign was classic (B/X) D&D.

We did play a few 4e sessions. I’m not sure we’ve really given it a fair shake yet, but nobody’s interested in trying again in the near future.

The next D&D campaign in the works...the guy who will DM it has choosen 3.5. (Looked with interest at Pathfinder, but decided to stick with 3.5.)

How long has your group been playing together?

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?

What edition are you playing?
The core of our groups has been together for over seven years, now.

We range in age from 30 to 45, with the median being somewhere around 35. We have two women (a nurse, and the manager of an in-house print shop) and the rest men (two of the print shop manager's employees, the office manager of a graphics shop, a sales guy, a hardware IT guy, a systems admin IT guy, a lawyer and legal support IT guy, and an unemployed-by-choice engineer).

We play 3.5. Two of our three games are currently in transition to Pathfinder. One is staying with 3.5 until the campaign ends, at which point we'll reevaluate. (None of the groups are moving to 4E.)

How long has your group been playing together?

In one incarnation or other, weekly for the past approximately 10 years.

What are the ages, genders, and professions of the people in your group?

[OK, this includes people who are both regular and irregular to our gaming group. For the past couple months it has been very irregular, unfortunately; "core members" are indicated with an asterisk]

*Male, 30, librarian serving young people (and bringing gaming to them) - that's me

*Male, 30, web designer

*Male, 30s, customer service at big box retailer

*Male, 40s, mathematics professor

Male, 30s, customer service at big box retailer (another one)

Male, 20s, Grad School student

What edition are you playing?

Trying to find our way after 4e didn't gel with us. We've tried Pathfinder, now we're looking into Warhammer Fantasy RPG. It's looking more like, however, that our gaming group is dissolving. (I blame Irontooth!)
