Can you describe a village, town or city in a few sentences? It can be real or fantasy, historic or futuristic.
Pick out the elements you think are important, interesting or unique. I'm hoping these would be useful to people for inspiration and I want to use them to help build generators for settlements.
Here's an example based on a local town..
"Newton Swamp is a port town governed by retired war hero Admiral Pell, and has been destroyed and rebuilt at least 3 times in the past. A river splits the town in two, spanned by a long wooden bridge which is repaired often. Clay and stone are floated down to the busy port by barges from upriver. Much of the town are fisher-folk, who spend summer away in distant seas, returning in autumn laden with foreign goods and exotic fish to celebrations of games and feasting. "
