Tell me of Hunter Planet (2e)

Okay, this is probably a question best answered by older gamers, older game collectors, or older Australian gamers who happen to collect games. Hunter Planet is, I gather, an older humour RPG about aliens who come to Earth (known as 'Dirt' to the aliens) in order to hunt humans. I also gather that it is a very early example of a truly rules-light (or 'minimalist' if you prefer) game system. What that entails. . . well, I don't know, exactly. Can anybody fill me in?

I own a copy, though I think mine might be the 1st edition. I haven't read it since I bought it though. If I remember correctly it was rather rules light and slanted towards the humor end of the spectrum. I know I've never played it. But then I own a hundred games I've never played.

I've played it... many years ago... and had a lot of fun with it. But only on a couple of occasions, and I never owned it.

Cheers!

The 'system' seems to be very well suited to fast game play, both at the table and over virtual mediums such as IRC and PbP forums. The game reminds me a lot of HoL due to imagery, specifically the Bear whose write-up is much like Led Pighp's, right down to the oversized sidearm.
