Apologies to Kiwis. If I could edit the poll, then I would change Australia to Oceania. (snip)

Actually, no need. Most of our cousins with vowel cancer move to Oz in due course anyway.... ;)

I will throw your poll out slightly in that I live in two regions: Asia and Australia. This year, at least, it's about 50/50 for me (I just have to make sure 183 days is outside Oz so I don't get hit with an Oz tax bill).

Less than 6% of ENWorlder's are female (or transgendered ;))? That's a bit fewer than I expected. I know female RPG players are in the minority, and female GM's even rarer. ENWorld seems to have a disproportionately high number of GM's compared to those who just play.

So I'd rather put the fear of the gods into the PC's by throwing them up against some ochre jellies and dire rats than go shopping for a new purse. Does that make me any less of a woman? :D

The lack of a poll option for being female may have skewed the numbers low. "Gee, look, I'm a not-male. How exciting, I think I'll answer this poll."

Don't know about the rest, but most intersexed people I know don't like the term transgendered.

If that's the case, then it may be a cultural shift in progress. I can tell you from personal experience that there is a great deal of academic research that uses the term "transgendered."

Frankly, I made sure to avoid any mention of race, ethnicity, religion or politics both because of forum rules and in a desire to avoid offending anybody, and I may as well have tried to stop the tide.
