Terra Subterranea and The Caverns of Lost Time

(OOC: Delaying is fine. I will point out that there is no guarantee as to whether the dragon will enter her range this round, and the Wendigos are available to target now (plus she seems to be pretty good at frying them, and they can hit hard if nobody takes care of them). I'll let you decide whether to change your mind while we wait for Ducane. Meanwhile, I'll just do everyone else--)

*Eternity waits to see what happens next. Aya successfully stands while drawing her rod-thingy. She aims it at a Wendigo and fires two rays of flame, one of which manages to strike a devastating blow.*

(OOC: Wow, a critical hit, so 79 Damage)

*Michael has no difficulty extricating Zack from the debris. There's not very much of it even.*

*Hulgyr enters a berserk frenzy and flexes his incredible muscles until they threaten to pull, managing to single-handedly push off a significant portion of the avalanche that has pinned him like an orcish Hercules or Atlas. This allows him to struggle closer to freeing himself. Though he is still deep under the snow and rocks, since Michael has his eye out for it, he can easily see a large section of the debris shifting under the force of something with massive power, sending ripples throughout tons of the stuff. In fact, everyone notices this, including the enemies, probably.*

*Meanwhile, freed from his erstwhile prison of debris, Zack stands and draws his weapon.*

(OOC: We still need Ducane)

(ooc: with no one else targeting the dragon at the moment, she'll aim to take it on herself hoping her more melee oriented companions will be able to handle the wendigos. It was a big toss up whether she'd do this or metamorphose into a lammasu and chase the dragon.)

Ducane moves towards a Wendigo while drawing his sword and activating Chain of Personal Superiority.

If he can, he'll try to block a Wendigo from getting to the other members of the group. He'll use Total Defense if he can maneuver so that the Wendigo can't move past him anyway, or Fight Defensively (and attack with +7 for 1d10+7 damage) if the Wendigo could try to slip past him. Probably can't draw weapon while using Spring Attack, so he'll move normally and take an AoO if he has to (he gets +4 AC vs. AoOs from Mobility feat).

OOC: HP 52 / 65, AC 20 + 1 from Dodge against closer Wendigo + defensive modifiers (+4 or +2) = 23 or 25 against closer Wendigo. 25 for movement-based AoOs because it'll happen before going defensive.

Effects: Prayer, Haste, Force Screen, Chain of Personal Superiority, Shaken. Bonuses include: +2 Damage (+ 1 Str + 1 Prayer), +1 Attack rolls (+1 Strength + 1 Haste + 1 Prayer - 2 Shaken), +7 HP (+2 Con). Attack +11/+11/+6 (1d10+7), modified by fighting defensively.

*Ducane moves forward into the uninjured Wendigo's face, ducking and weaving and barely managing to avoid being clobbered on his way in. He makes an attack that seems sure to strike a solid blow, but at the last minute, he recalls the dragon above and shivers uncontrollably, a paroxysm that causes his attack to fail.*

(OOC: Miss by 1)

*Eternity continues to watch and wait.*

*Meanwhile, the two wendigos begin their assault. The one next to Ducane swings at him twice, but both attacks manage to miss pathetically. The other, badly burned by the Fallonese mage's spell, charges at Aya and smashes into her with a sickening crunch. She is extremely badly hurt, teetering on the brink of unconsciousness. Another hit like that will most certainly kill her--in fact, the body may not even be recognisable.*

(OOC: That was unfortunate--it only hit her because it was charging.
Opale's turn. Then dragon)

With Zack and Hulgyr otherwise occupied, Eternity might've miscalculated their ability to take care of the Wendigos. Provided the dragon does not approach, she'll turn her empowered ray to the one that stands over Aya next.

ooc: if Eternity's ready action does not trigger, she'll fry the wendigo on her turn.

Opale make a quick prayer to Gliran to help her as she cast her Hideous Laughter spell on the Wendigo who attack Aya, not sure he will be bright enough to be affected by the spell.

*Opale's luck holds, and thew Wendigo begins laughing uncontrollably, a strange, guttural laughter. Unfortunately, she chose to target the one that was badly injured rather than the one that was doing well, so there's still a healthy wendigo around and ready to bash Ducane some more when it gets a chance.*

(OOC: Ooh, lucky. +4 for different creature type, but the monster rolled a 5)

*The dragon utters words of power in Draconic while moving to a position from which to swoop downwards at the party. It is surrounded by a protective shield of force, making it harder to strike with weapons.*

(OOC:

Eternity's readied action fizzles because it never gets in range. Everyone but Opale now.

(OOC: Correct--I shall roll for him)

*Hulgyr continues his struggle againss of rock. As perhaps could be expected, of the two of them, tons of rock is not doing so well.*

(OOC: After one more round of what is nearly auto-success for him (next round after this one will be only a DC 15 Strength check--compare to the first round which was DC 25), he will have crawled out and be free and on top of the debris, but prone

And as a random side note, B4cchsus, Findoram is awake and requested in the well-nigh-finished Showdown in the Forgotton Ruins. Well, him and Eskon, but I think Eskon's player may be away)
