Tests and Trials (Manzanita Judging)

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Luthiel nods his head, saying "Yeah, I guess you're right. At least wait til we're out of sight before doing what you need to do, okay? Oh, one more thing, are there any specific questions you want answersed?"
Luthiel waits for Devlin's response, then gathers Malen, Jasper, and the goblin. "We're going to take a look at something, okay? There are a few more questions we need to ask you, about this master you told us about. Then we'll let you go." Luthiel asks the goblin to walk beside him, and Malen and Jasper to walk behind. Then he leads the group back to the clearing.
OOC: Just in case it's necessary to specify, I mean the clearing with the demolished tower :p

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

Devlin nods at Luthiel's agreement. "Just see if you can get the little guy to tell you what's in that journal we found. And be careful."

Devlin then waits until Luthiel and the others start on their way before beginning his gruesome task.

Luthiel Faradar Elven Rogue1

Assuming that they make it to the clearing uneventfully, Luthiel watches closely to notice the goblin's reaction to the clearing and the state of the tower. Then he resumes the interrogation. "Is this where your master lives? Tell me more about him. Does he have a name?"

After collecting the proof, Devlin returns to the clearing, noticing that Cryndo is the only one left with him.

"Looks like we're off to see the wizard," Devlin comments, motioning for the cleric to follow him.

ooc: Devlin will take a different route back to clearing than the one Luthiel and the others took, hoping to come to it closer to the tower than their camp.

Luthiel motions for Jasper to bring the book forward again. "What's in this? Does this belong to your master? What does the writing say?" Although his tone is still riendly, Luthiel is firing the questions off quickly now, hoping that the goblin will let more spill if it is kept a little off-balance.

"Yes, that be master book! Gift for we, teach we to... listen? follow? Follow... master. Book say, 'Protect home, give to master, and be safe in home place.'

Devlin Magruder, human rogue 3

With Cryndo following mutely behind, Devlin reaches the clearing near the wizard's tower. Scanning the clearing from the treeline for, well, anything, Devlin whispers to Cryndo, "Well, you ready to meet our employer?"

ooc: what time of day (or night) is it now?
