Thank god for ENWorld

My main problem with the WotC boards is the number of users- those threads get big fast. I've stayed out of the Doomsday thread- I'd rather read discussion and theories, not see pages of whining, ranting, and yelling. I don't know if such a thread keeps the negativity out of other threads, but I'd rather try to have it contained in one thread than, well, the Paizo 4E threads, where we get such winners as:

My problems with 4e
The Problem with 4.0
Wizards "Playtesting" Column Sucks
Just Say No to 4.0
4E teaser video = marketing disaster

I'm normally quite fond of the Paizo boards, but I've looked into some of those threads- ewww. But then, these seem to be the same people who had their dogs killed by WotC after WotC declined to renew the license for Dragon and Dungeon.

I was just thinking this morning that the reaction to 4E has been amazingly level-headed and open minded. I guess the fact I've got that view is because I'm reading the reactions here.

I shall continue to stay away from the Wizard's boards

I have to say that I have been surprised by how many people seem to have concentrated on finding out what 4E will actually be like rather than complaining about there being another edition of D&D that they are "forced" to go out and buy.

I don't know if that is due to board moderation or people's attitudes in wanting to know more before they make a decision. Either way I am happy to see that the boards haven't degenerated into a giant flame war.

Which one? Our Living Enworld in the PbP forums? The world that ENWorld was first founded for (what was the name again?)? Michael Morris' Dusk? The default world of the Burning Sky?

I've just been reading through the 4E 'Doomsday' thread at the Wizards boards. For all the 4E griping that has gone on here at ENWorld, even the worst of it is far more reasonable and level-headed than the tripe that get posted over there.

Thank you ENWorld members. Even those who don't like 4E.
