That's SIR Idris Elba

I am suddenly reminded of the de-aging in The Irishman. They can make the face look younger, but they can’t make them not move like old men.
The de-aged Samuel L. Jackson in Captain Marvel moved like a man in his 70s. It was painful to watch. They should have pasted his face onto a body double or just recast him for the 1990s version of the story.

I'm with you there; loved Duran Duran when I was a kid, and I still love Walken and Jones and Moore to this day. But in retrospect even with nostalgia glasses we're squinting past quite a bit with Moore. 😅
Indeed. Speaking of Roger, I also thought Moonraker was so outlandish it was on the absurd. Then the last few years happened...

The Wire, Luther, the Thor movies, Suicide Squad, Kelvinverse Star Trek, one of those Fast and Furiouses, Pacific Rim, Prometheus, a lot of stuff. He’s very prolific—you’d recognise him if you saw him in something. He was also the favourite to be the new James Bond for a long long time but he’s long since aged out of that. He also a DJ, apparently, but I wouldn’t really know about that!
Ah, I've seen a couple of those. He must be one of those talented actors who disappears into each role, rather than essentially playing the same character over and over.

Eh, I dunno about that. He's no Gary Oldman. He's always Idris Elba! Sometimes he does an American accent, but that's about it.
His Baltimorean accent as Stringer Bell was great, speaking as someone who grew up in the region. I was shocked when I found out he was a Brit.

Americans are always surprised that half the people they watch in TV and movies aren’t American. For the rest of us watching US things is always an excercise in “oooh look it’s him off of… is he doing an American accent?”
