This is an interesting post. It does seem to sum up the various positions pretty well.

However, by my estimation is seems to be missing the "I hate 4E because it's just WotC trying to vacuum more money out of my pocket" and the "I love 4E because WotC rawks and I love everything they do" camps. It's also missing the "I'm totally irrational and have no reasons for my opinions. I just say whatever will maximize chaos" camp.

Also, could we please have more buzzwords? ;) I don't see how your typology will generate nearly as many tedious thread-wars of Mutually Assured Condescension unless it can be reduced to something like the ever-tiresome GNS debates.

Also, I'm 4, 5 and 8.

Heh, if I can help us avoid more pointless thread wars than I have succeeded! I think it would be fun if we standardized the language in this list and then put our "types" in our sig files. Of course then we couldn't accuse other posters of belonging to our favored pariah camp... :p

Oh by the way, I think I fit into groups 9 and 10.

Hmm... I can't see where I fit in this categorization. There's too much baggage with each option. I think 3e needed some fixing, but not enough to quit playing it. 4e is not the direction I wanted, but it definitely doesn't seem unnecessary. House rules for 3e seem superior to 4e for my purposes.
