I really wanted to hate this series. In the pilot I made fun of how all the space battles were filmed by the Babylon 5 maintenence bot. I really thought this series would suck.

Could someone pass me the salt? Because I'm about to eat crow.

In other words I had the exact same experience. I'm completely hooked now.

Well, for Biggus Geekus and Mystery Man, all I can say is welcome aboard finally. :) I went into the miniseries not wanting to like it. Seriously. I was a fan of the original series back when I was 5 years old, and a lot of things about that show were almost sacred to me. I loved the old show. But of course you cannot go back to 5 years old again, as Lucas has proven to us twice now, and this new BSG vehicle is simply amazing. It has the space combat and heroics of the original series, which appeals to my enduring sense of adventure, but it also has the sophistication and grit that appeals to my adult sensibilities. I hope this show has a long life, because it certainly deserves it. Before this, I had given up on watching science fiction TV because it was all so two dimensional. Finally we get a series where the characters seem real, as does the drama, and the situation remains compelling.

I think I am the most intrigued about where the story line is going with Helo on Caprica. Most of what is happening along this arc is pretty mundane, after he "escapes" from the Cylons, but I'm on the edge of my seat everytime they show it. Mostly because of the creepy Cylon following them. (Tricia Helfer does a good job with it). I just want to know what they're going to do with him.

I gotta say this is one of the story lines that has piqued my curiousity the most as well. I'm giddy with anticipation wondering just why the Cylons are letting him live and "run free" on Caprica. It should be interesting.

A frayed strap. Just general wear-and-tear that caused a probe to fall out and activate and blow up. A totally "normal" accident. Unless Boomer was out and about, of course.

I wouldn't call it normal at all. That is the sort of thing that would be picked up by a relatively well trained crew. Personally I took as a sign of the breakdown of the crew under the immense stress they are under.....now whether the weriters actually mean it that way...

And it probably has a good amount to do with the ship being so very close to being decommisioned.

I assume they're hoping for him to eventually find the fleet and lead them to it. That's what I would do, if I were a cylon. :]

I kind of assume they know where the fleet is at. A number of times they have attacked but not gone all out. I think they are observing the fleet through Boomer and are following it because it will lead them to Earth.

I don't think so. If that was the case then "Boomer"'s ship would've been available for them to escape on.
No, the cylons seem rather interested in reproduction. I think that is where their interest in Helo lies. Six herself said to Baltar that she wanted to have a baby.
