OK, so this is a little side quest I'm thinking of for my campaign.
As the PCs explore the dungeon of Midian, they can collect the armor pieces of an ancient warrior named Sai-Ko who once owned this dungeon.
The pieces are found in "Spell-Cases" which are special treasure chests that use the power of the magical items contained within to power up all the monsters within a burst 5 area.
The items are:
The Helmet of Sai-Ko
Head Slot
This item gives the wearer lightning resistance 5 and AC+1. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any way to see out of the thing so the wearer gets -5 to perception.
The helmet seems to have a riddle on it though...
"When you see evil, turn the other way."
It means that the helmet is on the wrong way. When you take it off and turn it around, the front opens up, activating its special feature so that it gives the wearer +5 to perception.
The Breastplate of Sai-Ko
Chest Slot
This item gives the wearer fire resistance 5 and AC+2. The problem is that the thing is really heavy so you get a -5 to athletics.
It seems to have a riddle though...
"Before you judge me, look at yourself in the mirror."
Whenever the character wearing the armor looks in a mirror, the text in the reflection changes to...
"Turn around three times."
When the character does so, the armors special feature is activated giving the wearer a +5 to athletics.
..Any suggestions?
Can you guys give me any ideas for what I might do for the other armor pieces? (Gloves, Boots, Cape)
