As far as I know, its completely disappeared off the radar. The playtest group has been dead for close to a year.

I know they wanted to convert it to 3.5.

The problem right now is Justin Bacon has completely disappeared from the radar as well, at least that was the last thing the Trolls posted on their message boards.

Justin is posting again at r.g.f.d but troll lords has removed the Art of War entry from their forum. I'm assuming that it is a dead product which isn't that big a deal since so many other mass combat books have been released lately. Although I have yet to actually see Fields of Blood.

Wouldn't be the first time Justin has dropped a project on a publisher.

Which is too bad really; the stuff we were getting to playtest was really good, in my opinion. Ah well. At least there are other mass combat resources out there for folks to use.

Troll Lords and Necromancer have both had cancellations with their products due to author issues. It's a shame really because it's such a small industry, you'd figure that as an author, you're either damn good or you just don't care. The other option of course is that something 'REAL' came up. No offense to the RPG world but sometimes, as we all know, life happens. All too often though, I've heard tales of ego at work.

Given Justin's posting style, it's not at all hard to believe ego would be a problem there. I personally won't knowingly buy anything with his name in the credits, and have him killfiled in my newsreader.
