If you're not moving to 4E, what edition do you prefer?

And what does that edition offer that (we assume) 4E will not?

Just curious...

I don't know if I am banned or something, as my vote registers as "0" even though I voted for second edition .... ?

What is missing most is the great exciting settings of back then.

Though for the rules, I prefer 3.5

I think your poll is going to be inaccurate due to the amount of people who are switching, but decide to vote anyway.

Heavily House Ruled 3.5, for me.

There are elements of 4th Edition that I like, but just when I think I could switch, I read something that makes me say that I can just turn X into a feat and Y into a house-rule for 3.5.

That said, I still like BECMI and AD&D. I just like the 3.5 ruleset as a better base from which to house rule.

At the moment, I think my 'ideal' edition would take the sensibilities and (relative) simplicity of 2nd Edition, but cleans up the maths to bring it into line with 3e rules. (So, reverse AC, eliminate THAC0, simplify the saves... but don't increase the emphasis on the tactical mini-game of combat, and don't assume as many magic items.)

If I have to choose an actual edition, then I'll go with 3e - the mathematical oddities of earlier editions are just annoying enough to stop me running them.
