Why not just have people volunteer their rooms at the Embassy Suites? I'm sure I could convince my roomies to offer up their room for one night. If different folks took turns, it would avoid burnout. Just decide early what room will be what day, and make sure people know to bring some food and drinks and stuff.

I think trying to find places outside the Embassy Suites will become too complicated and will splinter the group too much. (Also, I got a room at the Embassy specifically so it'd be easier for me to hang out with my ENWorld friends, *grin*)

Remember, if we go with a public hotel space or restaraunt, we won't be able to bring in any of our own refreshments. I've talked with most of the hotels in the downtown indy area, and most of them require that they cater any outside event. Either that, or they charge something like a $40 fee for every bottle of wine/six-pack brought in.

Also, most of the spaces have been bought out by the con. If we were going to want to use one of the con spaces, we'd probably have to run it as a ticketed event, like a seminar.

My agreement with your idea has nothing to do with my hotel room being at the Westin .

Yeah, We aren't sure which night yet, but thus far all of us have expressed that we are good with the idea.

Except the Icelander was the one who could hold his booze. It was the american who puked on the floor (and nearly on me).

They're both very cool guys though (not that I'll never let them live that down of course).

That gets us 2 nights (out of a potential 5, if one includes sunday evening). I think we still need to put some thought into finding a place where we can all gather, a sort-of ENworld "checkpoint" for the other 3.
