The Captain's Caper! (Dunamin judging)

[sblock=Girth]You forgot Warlock's Curse damage! 5 damage Roll Lookup [/sblock]

Girth sidled quietly out of his hiding place and cast yet another sheen of unearthly light towards the draconid. Then, without any hesitation, and stepping with unerring delicacy, he swept through somewhen that ordinary mortals did not know existed. As he moved he slid through a place, or maybe places, darker even than the black light shed by their adversary. Even the very shadows wrapped him in their embrace to hide him from view.

ooc:what did you make Girth use last round, phoenix? He had said dire radiance, if you had him use that, the dragon should take extra damage since it came nearer to Girth.
/every little bit counts!
Uhm, I suppose it didn't move anymore after being hit. dang!

After clashing at full speed with a dragon and coming out the winner, one tends to get riled up, so Alex starts taunting the dragon: So what's up, black lizzie, ya can't even scratch me? C'mon, keep going at it, I'll hang your head on the Hanged Man's walls before the weekend!!! he roars, and lands another powerful hit on Kartharath's brow, in laughter!
Then he steps sideways to set up a flank with Hrav.

[sblock=actions]basic attack, 24 vs AC, 12 dmg, wow, max dmg too! I'm on a roll! mark the big lizard, obviously!; shift to K18[/sblock]

"Hrav! It's over here! Follow my voice!" Quagmire bellows, unsure exactly where his comrade is. He takes a deep breath to steady himself, circling the dragon, but does not approach.

[sblock=actions]Move: to J15, to get in range for Knight's move.
Standard: sub for move, Knight's move, granting Hrav a free move action
Minor: none

What I'm thinking: I'd like to save my last Inspiring Word for emergencies. That means I have to be conscious to use it. So I'd rather not expose myself without having time to take my second wind. I could have done that this turn, but then Hrav wouldn't have been able to flank. This way, if Alex shifts to K18, Hrav can get to K21 and still have a standard action left

[sblock=ooc]I know it's strange to come up with this after all this time, but didn't some of you buy potions back at the start of the adventure? I don't remember seeing any used.[/sblock]

Following the sound of Quag's voice, Hrav dashes over to flank the dragon with Alex, attempting to find a hole in the armored hide with his rapier.

[sblock=Mechanics]Knight's Move free action - Move to N22.

Move action - Move to K21.

Standard action - Piercing Strike against the Dragon.

Piercing Strike (1d20+8+2=20, 1d10+4=8, 2d6+4=8)

Hits Reflex 20 for 16 damage.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I just realized I still have my Blinding Barrage daily. I had generally been thinking of it as a crowd control power, but I should totally use it on the dragon. If I hit, she's blind until the end of my next turn. Next round, I'll Tumble away and try it.[/sblock]

ooc: Garyh, you need to Delay to flank with Alex(Hrav comes first on initiative). Also, If I remember right, Blinding Barrage is a close blast, so it wouldn't provoke OAs. Why tumble away and lose the flank?

OOC: Thanks, Ata. Good points. I will delay as needed, and yeah, next round I'll use Blinding Barrage with the flank.

-Quagmire moves a little and urges Hrav on to move so that he can flank with Alex.
(Alex will go next now since Hrav has to delay to let him get into position for flanking.)

-Alex assaults the wyrm with his mouth and his sword and both strikes seems to land well!
(12 damage to dragon)

-Hrav moves into position across the dragon from Alex and sinks his rapier deep between its scales. Kartharath howls in pain and fury and unleashes a blast of acid from her maw towards Hrav and everything to the east of her. (Free action used immediately when bloodied.) Girth uses the bushes for cover and is untouched by the acid, but Hrav catches it almost in the face. Luckily, it seems to not be very potent. Alex uses the dragons distraction and pain to his advantage though. As it turns to spray acid at Hrav and Girth, Alex slashes deep into its long neck!
[16 damage to dragon from Hrav, 5 acid damage to Hrav w/ ongoing 5 acid damage and -4 AC (save ends both). To save time I rolled for Alex's basic attack since the marked dragon attacked somebody other than him. I don't think you'll complain or want to try rolling it yourself since I rolled a 20 for you! 12 more damage on the dragon from Alex.]

-Girth sends out his fell magic once more to attack the dragon, but this time it manages to fend off the dark radiance without damage. Girth then moves away from the area blasted by the dragon's breath.

-Kartharath releases the cloud of darkness since it is no longer hiding her from anyone. She focuses on Alex once more and snaps her head forward to bite into him and leave a coating of her acid drool behind to boot.
[Alex is bitten for 8 damage and has ongoing 5 acid damage(save ends).]

-Quagmire, Alex, Hrav, and Girth...
[sblock=Round 6- Init/Status]19- Alex / hp 13/41, bloodied, ongoing 5 acid damage(save ends), regen 4hp at start of any turn when he's bloodied.
18- Hrav / hp 15/31, bloodied, 5 ongoing acid dmg and -4 AC (save ends both)
20- Girth / hp 28/35, concealment till end of his next turn
29- Kartharath / hp -130
29- Quagmire / hp 8/31[/sblock]
