The Charming Warden

(I have a few hours in between flights just now. My internet access will be spotty over the next couple of hours, then I'm stuck on a very long flight. I ought to be settled and back to normal posting rate in 24 hours, fortune willing.)

Jonah breaks free for the moment and tries to find Blue even though he can't see.

[sblock=OOC] rolled a nat 20 So get to move. But since Jonah can't see I guess that is mute. Please roll a random direction and have him move his speed. I think that would be fair.[/sblock]

OOC: Jonah can hear Blue whimpering, so could move towards him, but he wouldn't have enough movement to make it out of the cloud (he only gets 15'). I think that basically the only move that makes sense is a move to C15, out of the entanglement, out of the cloud, and under 15' away.

Jonah finally breaks free of the entangling vines and, coughing and wheezing, moves out of the cloud and away from the grasping plantlife.

As he breaks free from the shroud of the smoke, he can see part of the scene again. Tibard and Jonah both watch as the Dancer follows the Fiddler's ascent, up and away.

Tibard...

"Come back here, y'cowards! I knew you were a trap! Phaw, never trust tiny people."

[sblock=ooc]Tibard will move 40 feet towards the fleeing enemies for one round. After that he'll go back to the party and see if everyone's okay.[/sblock]

Wrote a nice post, got eaten. Am beat, and on phone, so apologies.

The fairies fly away, and the vines and the music release their hold. You are left standing in the road.

(OOG: Sorry about that last post. I was feeling quite frustrated and tired. =P)

Tibard chases after the fleeing creatures for a few yards, waving his weapon and shouting in futility. He turns around to find the smoke dissipating, revealing the others. Still bound by the entangling vines, they are again in control of their own limbs, and they begin to struggle violently, still hacking and coughing.

It isn't long before everybody is free. Nobody is harmed, and the fleeing fairies, now mere dots in the sky, disappear beyond the canopy of the forest.

The party...

(OOC: Actions?)

Reis finally straightens up, breathing hard and shifting his unbound legs painfully. He gestures toward Jonah, not waiting to catch his breath. "Jonah... you have the chest? I thought I saw..." he does not finish the statement, but looks at the human, waiting.

"Ugh. Anyone hurt? If not, we should get moving. The sooner we get to the end of this road the better." Moments later he says, "Oh, man, once we get there we'll have to walk back, too."

"Blue, glad ta see you'n is alright." Jonah says in relief. And upon hearing Reis he checks his sack for the chest."I'm not sure..."
