He Who Lurks Beyond The Veil
"Yes." Dzax replies to Suyt absently as he went for the simple crescent shaped amulet hanging from his neck. This trick didn't always work, but his studies about the forbidden lore had given him insight into the forces that bound these kinds of creatures. He poured all his willpower into a simple command. "Back you foul spawns of night!"

Unfortunately his faith in his power was not great enough, and the words get stuck in his throat.

Round 1

The zombies lurch forward into the light. Sayida attacks the first zombie at hand, but her blow does not seem to faze it at all. Teal likewise attacks with his morningstar, but in his overeagerness to swing, misses against its lurching movements. Syut hacks into one of the zombies with an edged weapon, scoring a serious wound.

Dzax brandishes his holy symbol, but this display does not cause the undead to pause. Grimm gestures, and a bolt of arcane force issues from his hand to strike the same zombie that Syut damaged. Ignoring the two grievous wounds in its chest that would certainly kill a living being, it keeps coming.

OOC Initiative:
Sayida
zombies
Syut
Teal
Dzax
Grimm

Players: none damaged
Four Zombies: one very hurt

Sayida showed no sign of dismay as her strike failed to harm the creature- she simply filed the knowledge away for later, then began to consider alternatives... She could see that Syut had managed to hurt one of the zombies, though, as had the magical bolt. Perhaps she could help in another way. As Syut started to move, Sayida moved as well, stepping behind the creature he faced and using the leverage of her staff and a well-placed kick to interfere with the zombie's slow movement.

OOC: move (5 foot step), intending to help Syut set up a flanking spot; Aid Another to attempt to improve his attack as well (1d20+3 attack, DC 10, to give Syut a +2 to hit). If a 5 foot step cannot get to flank she will move in a way that leads to a flank in the future, moving 5 feet per round until she gets position. (Describing as best I can without a map)

Dzax isn't ready to give up so easily. He had spent many nights reading books about undead, and he knew he could do this.

Back I said you rotting piles of scum, back!

This time his words seeth with terrifying power.

Round 2

Sayida slips into position as the zombies move forward to strike. Syut is struck by a clawed hand, and Teal is jabbed with a spear that leaves a shallow gash across his shoulder. Dzax is attacked as well, but the zombie's claws bounce harmlessly off his armor.

Syut hooks her kama blade into one of the previous wounds and rips open the injured zombie's torso, causing it to revert to an inert corpse which falls to the ground instantly. Teal smashes an adjacent zombie with his morningstar, cracking some ribs.

Dzax calls once more upon the power of his faith to repel the undead, and this time he is successful. Syut and Teal each get hits in as the the zombies suddenly turn about and flee as best they can, ankle chains scraping the stone floor behind them. Grimm's conjured acid hits a retreating zombie in the back, causing a nasty-looking burn.

OOC:
Syut 2 damage
Teal 1 damage past DR (was 3)

Zombies: 3 remaining, all fleeing
1 badly damaged
1 slightly damaged
