Thaimon curses silently to himself for letting his balance slip, and hopes no one heard. After seeing the bright flash, he quickly sheathes his sword and silently approaches the corner, with crossbow loaded and ready. He then takes a quick peak around the corner to see what's there.

"I can´t do anymore here" think Ozan, and enters the alcove. There, he waits his turn to use the rope.

Miraln catches a glimpse of Ralan's face above. He is surprised.

*Ralan? What's he doing here?*

He turns away to watch Thaimon, and hides his surprise.

*Hmm... coming to think of it, he was trying to save all those people back there, wasn't he? How... heroic. That ritual must have backfired.*

Miraln will move and peer around the corner if Thaimon decides to charge. Otherwise he will stay where he is and watch how Thaimon reacts. Being a cleric, he also instinctively looks around to see if anyone is badly wounded.

Tote will move down the ladder normally. Undue haste would just result in injury. At the bottom he will move to make space for anyone above him.

Ralan clumsily throws himself off the edge, he spins and lands on his feat in the sludge
He is accompanied by a faint humming. Ralan winces as he climbs out of the shallow channel. Tote and Ozon follow him down on the rope. You can see the older human staring one way into the darkness as the other survivors climb up a ladder in the other direction. Miraln – no one is bleeding. You don’t have heal so its hard to tell if anyone is otherwise injured.

Thaimon you see large retaining pool, your sharp eyes easily pick out a figure on the far side. It is human is messing with a door, he has a glow coming from his chest. Partially covered – a continual flame tucked in his shirt?

Ozan looks upwards and quickly gets out of the way of anyone jumping or climbing. Now that he´s free of the smoke [I hope so] he turns to he others in the sewer: "What happened up there? I´d swear the fire was deliberate. But why?"

Ralan answers: "It definitely was...I saw the philosopher being abducted. The fire is a diversion. We need to find a way out of here and figure out what happened."

Ralan will look around, hoping to see something. "Does anyone have a torch?" he asks.

Tote will nod at Ralan, and casts the light spell on a strip of cloth around his right wrist. "That fire was dubious, and I wonder if those who set it intended to murder the cities most prominent intellectuals. For the time being however, having a burning building land on us would not be a clever thing."

Miraln: "Someone before me said there is an exit to the north. I'd advise caution, however: the arsonist might have set up an ambush. I'm a cleric. Are any of you wounded?"

Ralan answers: "It definitely was...I saw the philosopher being abducted."

"Wait" asks Ozan. "They can´t be far away, then. They can be using a secret exit, if then I believe they could be using the sewers, too, or they could be in the streets right now."

"We have to find him, we´re the only ones that know about that. I suggest we divide and search here and up. I can keep contact with the other group, so if one finds something we can gather before doing something."
