[ooc: silly me. thought summon I was a standard action.]

Miraln feels rather unsatisfied with leaving and wasting a spell for nothing, so he will move in and spend the next round pounding the snake, hoping to kill it before he leaves.

Miraln notes that thus far, the party has not been able to damage it - but it has dealt no damage of its own, either - it has not even attacked. He suspects an illusion.

The summoned octopus will attempt grapple (improved grab).

Once the others have gone from the snake room, Ralan will stand in the doorway to keep an eye on Miraln. "Come friend, let the beast be" he tells him.

"Oh, just give me a few more seconds," replied Miraln, grunting with the effort of his swings. "I'll be right over."

[ooc: what's with the running away, people? The snake is practically a slithering sack of xp.]

A small Octopus appears in the water with a splash – it is sickly green and bright veins of red highlight its slimy tentacles, which fail to get hold of the snake, instead it bites the very surprised creature. The snake rears out of the water and bites back frantically – but is unable to destroy the tenacious chuthloid. The entire pool is filled with the snakes writhing coils. Milran darts up and swings at it bouncing of its thick scales.
Thaimon flings open the door, and finds a 15x15 maintence room with an overturned desk, and tools and clothing hanging on the walls. some smaller supplies are scattered on the follor as well. A glowing magical light hangs on a hook above the desk. Tote and Ozon follow you in spreading out to each side of the door.
Thaimon:
[sblock] you remember hearing a heavy clunk as you sprang the trap – it could very well have been the desk going over[/sblock] There is a door on the far side of the room. The frame looks like it has been partially dissolved, making it impossible to open. Seeping through the bottom of the door, partially obscured by the overturned desk;
Comes a horrifying living mass of inky black jelly.

The snake is large, and is far enough out of water to void its cover.
No one in my entire gaming career has ever before summoned a fiendish octopus. ;)

Initiatives: Tote 19, Thaimon 18, Miliran 13, Ozon 12, snake 11 Ralan 10,

Thinking to himself that it would be a good idea to have a safe way out, Ralan looks at Miraln and says: "well let me help you then!"

He will make opportunustic strikes at the snake with his staff.

[OCC: Quarterstaff (2 handed): Attack: +0/+0 Damage: 1d6+3/1d6+3 ; x2 ; Bludgeoning - 1d6 extra damage for flanking (rogue)]

Ozan, human psion. Power points: 5/9

[ooc: steve, I think those numbers are wrong. They should be

Quarterstaff, two handed: +2 damage 1d6+3. Two weapon fighting: +0/+0, damage 1d6+2/1d6+1; and there´s not a 1 sneak attack/round limit.

On an unrelated matter, it´s Ozan, not Ozon.]

Ozan looks at the black mass bubbling from under the door. "What´s that?" he says aloud. Anyway, whatever it´s, he´s certain it has´t a brain, so, being trapped between the aparently invulnerable snake and the black thing he feels rather impotent.

With the room (mostly) empty, Thaimon turns with crossbow in hand, gets a bead on the snake, and fires a bolt at it. If necessary to get a clear shot, he will take a 5' step forward.

"shut that door," Miraln said in Ozan's direction, "maybe it'll slow it down a bit while we kill this snake."

He keeps clubbing away at the snake, hoping to score a solid hit.

The octopus will repeat what it did last round, despite its wounds.
