The Closed Eye, part II (DM: covaithe, Judge: garyh)

[sblock=WAIT! (again)]
One of the golem's flailing arms catches Atreus a heavy blow as he passes, staggering him.

[sblock=ooc]I'd better roll that OA: 22 vs. AC hits for 8 damage, and Atreus is dazed (se). :(

I think that means you can't take both attacks; you'll have to spend your AP to get one of them off. Which one?
[/sblock]
It uses berserk attack as an immediate reaction, hitting Hacker with AC 21 for 10 damage despite being blinded, and despite me forgetting CA again.
The golem used an immediate action to take an opportunity attack on Atreus. You only get one of those per round, which means it can’t take the berserk attack. Atreus is not down and out!

Haha, sweet logic I love you! :D:D:D

Nice save, by the way, Ken. How's about we finish off that gobo while we have the chance?[/sblock]

Sorry... It's true that you only get one immediate action each round, but OAs are not immediate actions, they're opportunity actions, which are 1/enemy turn. (PHB p.290) Atreus is still down. :(

But it does sound like you're right about Rain of Blows. Update in progress...

Round 5

As Atreus recklessly dashes behind the flesh golem, the zombie takes a chunk out of his backside, chewing vigorously. Atreus cannot quite evade the flesh golem's meaty fist, and takes a resounding thump to the chest, dazing him. Somehow he finds the strength to keep moving and flank the golem. His dagger flies true, running blood into the thing's eyes. It roars in frustration. "NOT BED-TIME! IS SMASH-TIME!" Putting action to words, one of its angry fists finds Atreus' jawbone, nearly shattering it, and dropping the rogue to the floor like an empty barrel of fine rum.

Kathalia lies on the floor, bleeding and looking rather pitiful.

Woe charges the goblin, shouting at it to call off the golem. His words have no obvious effect, but eight inches of sharpened, glowing steel at the end of his spear have some rather pointed words of their own.

The goblin screams, blood trickling between its lips. "Owwww! The stabbing, it hurts! Come, my minions! Defend your maker, that the Master will find favor in you!"

The golem bellows an incoherent challenge, and wanders blindly about, flailing its many fists impotently.

The last remaining zombie ducks under one of the golem's fists and charges Woe, heeding the goblin's call. Its teeth fail to penetrate the warrior's steel scales, but it does provide an unwanted distraction.

The goblin lurches to its feet and beckons the noxious green cloud closer, his form blurring in the haze. It tries a blinding hex on Woe, but he shakes it off, and responds with another spear thrust.

[sblock=ooc]Corrections: Woe's rain of blows hit twice, not once, so the golem has 10 more damage. Also, Hacker used Fade Away to become invisible after he got hit in round 4.

Atreus takes a sunrod out. He moves to flank the golem, but gets hit by the OAs from the zombie and the golem, taking 4 and 8 damage and becoming dazed (se). Becoming dazed costs him his remaining actions, however he uses his AP for blinding barrage, which barely hits. The golem takes 9 damage and is blinded (tent Atreus). Atreus also uses his deathstalker dagger power, so Big G takes 5 ongoing necrotic and -2 to saves to end that effect. The golem's berserk attack hits Atreus for 10 damage, dropping him to -4.

Kathalia fails her saves.

Woe charges the goblin, hitting and marking it. It takes 8 damage and becomes bloodied. Woe saves against dazed.

Hacker moves to.... I16 is in the wall. Do you mean H16? Or possibly G17? I've tentatively got you in H16. Hacker saves vs. Dazed.

The golem, blinded, runs around a bit and attacks empty squares.

The zombie charges Woe, moving into a flanking position with the hexer. 18 vs. AC misses.

The golem stands up, sustains the cloud, moving it to G18, and attacks Woe with blinding hex. This provokes an OA from Woe. 15 vs. Fort; blinding hex misses.

Atreus' death save will be considered to be the first act of round 6, so that the golem will not be blinded during the rest of your turns.

covaithe: Let's put Hacker at H17. I didn't realize the I-location was a wall.

Hacker chuckles to himself. "Sorry. Sorry. Just thinkin' about how *****head got beat to death by that golem. Life is good."

"Back to the task at hand."

Hacker hugs the wall, moving closer to the goblin. [Move: Shift to I18.]

"Hey, you torch-stealin' necrophiliac whoremonger, unlike my pardner, Woe, I have no interest in seein' you dead. Instead, I'm going to cut off all your limbs, facial features, and dubious sexual characteristics, then insert select portions of your zombified lovers' anatomies into the holes. If you're lucky, you'll die of starvation before the corpse rot sets in, but I'll tell you what, I'll have a warm ***** feelin' in my belly every gawds-***** time I recollect your suffering."

[Standard Action: Vicious Mockery (non-lethal) on the goblin -- v. Will (1d20+6=21, 1d6+5=9); goblin suffers -2 to attack rolls until Hacker's EONT.]

Atreus moans as he fights to regain his conciousness

Ah, you’re right, I apologize![/sblock]
In the blink of an eye, Woe has launched another spear-thrust, driving sharp electrified metal into the goblin’s spleen. Then he twists it, violently – the result is brutal, gory, and messy.

“That’s for wasting barrels of fine rum, you little rotten body-looting fungus-faced corpse-fetishist!”

"Hey, you torch-stealin' necrophiliac whoremonger, unlike my pardner, Woe, I have no interest in seein' you dead. Instead, I'm going to cut off all your limbs, facial features, and dubious sexual characteristics, then insert select portions of your zombified lovers' anatomies into the holes."
“Feel free to do whatever you want with this schmuck, buddy... with the pieces that are left, once I’m through with it. I’ve had enough friends butchered lately - it’s time to get some serious skull-splitting spine-snapping payback!”

Woe lunges out again at the hexer, but anger clouds his focus and this time the strike goes wide.

If the goblin eventually drops it will probably remain alive due to Hacker’s nonlethal attack, but Woe does not make any effort to turn his own strikes less lethal.

[sblock=Actions]Woe’s OA hits AC 29 for 9 damage. He shifts down to I20 (an unflankable position, I presume) and attacks with Cleave but misses.

I’ve never experienced Invisible Castle being down this much, but discovered that OOTS has a built-in dice roller with uneditable and undeleteable posts. I've set up a thread for us here.
