Round 6

Woe's spear savages the goblin again as it tries to blind him.

Atreus moans as he fights to regain consciousness.

Kathalia lies limply, blood pooling deeper beneath her. Her breathing is growing shallow and labored.

Hacker threatens the goblin with a variety of bizarre undead grafts, which injures something in its fragile brain.

Woe moves to a more defensible position and stabs again, but his anger sends the point wide.

Atreus makes both saves. Still dying, but no longer dazed.

Kathalia fails both saves. She's one save from death. :eek:

Hacker moves... somewhere. Vicious mockery hits for 9 damage, and the goblin takes -2 to attacks (TENT hacker)

Woe shifts south and misses, but refreshes his mark against the goblin. The goblin shifts east as an immediate reaction from the miss, which trigger's Woe's combat challenge.

I'm holding off on the monster turns until we sort out where Hacker is. Neither H17 nor I18 are within the tunnel. Sorry, I guess my quick-and-dirty vision blocking layer was confusing. I've redone it to follow the cavern walls more closely. If you can see half of the square, you can occupy it.

So, where's Hacker? Need to know before I can do the golem's turn. Also need a combat challenge attack from Woe, though I'll roll that myself if I'm ready to update and it's not done yet.

Woe makes a deep and devastating lunge, running the goblin completely through with a sickening sound of guts being perforated and torn apart. The warrior lifts his victim from its feet, letting it slide all the way down the bloody shaft until they’re face to face.

“And that’s for messing up my crew, rot-sucker.”

“You should have stayed up whatever half-decayed womb aborted you out. Now you can stay down and try to keep your entrails together.”


Woe headbutts the goblin so hard that it slides back up and off his spear.

Let's put Hacker at H18. If that's not a space, put him at G18.

However, if anything should prevent it (dazed or blocked off), Hacker could try activating her Second Wind with a Heal check. Hopefully it won’t come to that.[/sblock]
 

Round 6, continued

The goblin hexer sees an opening when Woe misses -- or thinks it does. As it leaps back, it becomes clear that Woe's fumble was just a feint, and the goblin fell for it completely. Now it pays the price, in the form of three feet of magical electrified spear through the guts. As Woe headbutts it off of the spear, it opens its mouth for some last words, but dies before it can utter them.

The golem's meaty voice rumbles through the cavern. "I SEE YOU!" It lumbers up behind Hacker and delivers a pair of... surprisingly gentle blows. To his surprise, Hacker remains standing, though dazed.

The zombie behind him tries to bite Hacker, but catches a mouthful of clothing instead.

Finally, the cloud of mucus-green filth suspended in the tunnel dissipates, and you can see clearly again, or at least as clearly as the light from Atreus' dropped sunrod allows.

[sblock=ooc]H18 isn't a square, so I've put Hacker in G18 as requested.

Woe's crit on combat challenge kills the goblin.

I forgot about the ongoing damage to the golem in round 5 when it was blinded. It took 5 damage then, and crits the save. So no ongoing damage in round 6. Its blindness ended after Atreus made his saves, so it's not blind now. It moves to flank Hacker with the zombie and unleashes a double attack on Hacker: 23 vs. AC for 6 damage and 23 vs. AC for 5 damage, and Hacker is dazed (se). Natural 2 and 1 on the damage rolls, sheesh.

The zombie attacks Hacker as well, 18 vs. AC misses.

This is when the goblin's turn would have been, and it can't sustain the cloud any more, so that goes away.

Is there room for Woe to slip past the golem with Pass Forward? Otherwise, all I can think of is trying to push it back with Tide of Iron to get in range for healing Kathalia.

ooc: I don't see it for Pass Forward; that tunnel is pretty tight there. Tide of Iron looks like your best option from here. But, hey, no pressure. :D

(I do have something fun planned if you all die. Well, fun for me, at least. :devil:)
 



Turning away from the bloody remains of his assailant, Woe picks another fight to back his allies up.

“Oi, you misplaced mess of body parts!” he calls out the golem.

Woe rushes in to drive it back, yet he doesn’t quite manage to apply force as needed.

“Your little “handler” is no more and you’re losing blood and pieces so fast, that at this rate you’ll soon have less limbs than me. Get outta’ here while you still have legs keeping you up!”

Diplomacy 14

Invisible Castle went down as I rolled the Diplomacy check, so I used the OOTS site for that one.

Did Woe just try to reason with a huge corpse-stitched abomination to get through to Kathalia? Yes, yes he did.
