I am pretty sure that everybody in this group could use some kind of psychotherapy ;)

Well, happy the fireball is quite hilarious, but the fact that it or Palindrome may have killed Arnest is going to piss Atreus off, he wants to get paid first … and then kill him. Think about the consequences, Arnest said he had something in store for us if he did not return alive.

[/sblock]

[sblock=Consequences]Palindrome was thinking about the consequences. There's one less annoying person in the world. ;)

Oooooooh...

You mean the whole thing about our deeds coming to light? Yeah. That will just make the game more fun! Once we 'save the world' from the evil cult, we should have some credit with the authorities anyway, and we can spin this to make it look like Arnest was responsible for the whole mess. Finally, your character is a THIEF![/sblock]

Woe finds himself down on the ground. Again.

“Hmm. Well. All this standing up and lying down is getting pretty redundant.”

“Perhaps I should just take a break from all of the fuss. A nap would be nice.”

The warrior puts a hand behind his head and closes his eyes for a moment.

Second Wind

“On the other hand, there is the matter of unholy insubstantial abominations wrenched from the afterlife, drifting invisibly in the vicinity, possibly bent on our destruction. Or at least chilly glowy orbs, bent on giving us the tingles.”

Woe opens an eye again, raises an eyebrow, and peeks around.

“Ah, screw it.”

Once more he gets on his feet, a little recovered from the onslaught.

Woe stands

[sblock=OOC]Yeah, uh, ditto on wanting to get paid before we kill Arnest - that’s Woe’s entire incentive for being here.

No problem if the dinero is on his corpse, but with our luck...[/sblock]

Out of Character

[sblock=You know...]...if your characters had just told Palindrome that they wanted to take Arnest's money and then kill him, he would have gone along with it.

With glee.[/sblock]

Atreus watches Arnest burn with somewhat pleasure and is conflicted of what he should do but decides that for now he must live. " Palindrome! " Yells Atreus. " Stop burning Arnest, we will take care of him later " he says in all the tounges he knows except common and goblin.

Atreus moves away from his foes, hoping that these so called undead will strike the others instead of him and once more readies himself with his magic dagger to strike as they reveal themselves but not before drinking a healing potion.

[sblock=Actions]
Minor Action: Drinks a healing potion ( heals 10hp and uses a healing surge)
Move Action:Moves to L10
Standard Action: Readies to throw his dagger at the nearest mote that reveals itself. Uses Sly flourish for the attack. Hits AC 27 and Does 9 damage
Saving Throw: Does not make it! got 5 ( for some reason invisible castle rolled twice, but the first result was 5... is this the third time I have failed a saving throw, must be some kind of record... arghhh stupid dice roller!)

Round 5

Tander stands and summons heavenly radiance to his palm, ready to loose it. He looks around carefully.

[sblock=Tander]Just to the west of Woe, you spot a wisp of smoke. You recall that that was where the mote that had been burnt by Happy was last seen.

ooc: You still can't see it, but you know what square it's in: Q3. I haven't rolled your readied attack yet; I thought I'd give you a chance to revise knowing where one is.
[/sblock]

Woe closes his eyes briefly, then surges to his feet, looking better.

Palindrome, without standing, quaffs a potion and concentrates. Happy wails, and grabs Arnest around the throat with half a dozen bulging pseudopods of flame, squeezing and shaking him several times before dropping him and turning toward the half orc bodyguards. There is a sickening odor of charred flesh. What is left of Arnest does not move. Palindrome pretends he's lost control of the flaming sphere, and his efforts seem convincing. (22 on the bluff check.)

Atreus shouts for Palindrome to stop, but it is too late for Arnest. Atreus drinks a potion and readies his dagger again, eyes peeled for the tiny griefmotes.

The two half orcs look at Happy fearfully, then at each other. "Right," snaps Goldtusk. "You get outta here. I got da boss." He runs to Arnest's fallen form, avoiding Happy, scoops up the remains easily, and runs flat out southward through a break in the trees. The other half orc runs ahead, outpacing Goldtusk. They are quickly out of sight, though you can hear their crashing footfalls still. (Goldtusk - formerly orc 3 - moves to U9, picks up Arnest's body, and runs south. Orc1 double runs south-ish.)

ooc: Pausing here to see if Tander wants to change things

[sblock=Plans]Between Combat Challenge, Combat Superiority, and Steel Serpent Strike, Woe might be able to singlehandedly stop Goldtusk from getting away with Arnest. And Woe has really been looking forward to gutting Goldtusk.

It would probably leave the rest of you guys to mop up the motes, though, so I won't go through with it if you think its too risky.[/sblock]

[sblock=Plans]
Hmm, I dont think we can take the motes on, if we lack woe that is. I think its better that we all go after the orcs, kill them and then rest, go back to kill the motes. Then save the day and then kill arnest after we got a huge pouch of gold.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Plans]I guess that's also an option, but they don't seem that tough - one is bloodied after 13 damage.

Let's see how things are looking after the motes have acted this turn... And after seeing how Tander reacts to all this - he's probably just about ready to bring down Divine Vengeance on Palindrome. :p[/sblock]
