Atreus is pleased with Woe’s reaction and gives him an acknowledgeable nod “ Good, use these strong emotions to fuel your vengeance. Instead of letting them cripple you, let them empower you” and Atreus takes a look around before he continues “ Where I am from, a display of emotions is shunned upon, but none the less, I must admit that I have seen men much like your self accomplish impossible feats with sheer hatred. These past experiences can make you in some degree unstoppable if you let it “ he pauses for a couple of seconds like something caught his attention but regains his serious poseur and looks Woe straight in the eye “ Most of all, it gives you purpose. Purpose to avenge your comrades. When the time comes, I shall aid you in this. We shall slay them all to honour their memory “ Atreus brings his right hand up to his left shoulder and makes an elegant short bow as a sign of respect before turning towards something in the distance with his dagger at the ready “ Now we have others things to attend to, I believe we have company “

“Oh, I’ll get my vengeance on those pointy-eared bone-fetishists, make no mistake. That copper-toothed half-orc who kept us from looting Noble Cuckoo for our promised payment also moved up a few spots on the hit list, though.”

“Thanks for putting up, Atreus,”
Woe nods, finally a smile back on his lips. “I appreciate the aid, both that of the past, present, and future.”

Atreus brings his right hand up to his left shoulder and makes an elegant short bow as a sign of respect before turning towards something in the distance with his dagger at the ready “ Now we have others things to attend to, I believe we have company “
Woe spins around and draws his spear in one fluid movement, still battle-ready from their latest venture. He stays low and out of sight, taking up position not too far from his shield and Tander’s corpse.

“So it would seem,” he whispers. Woe sniffs the air that carries downwind from the approaching strangers. “I smell… several familiar brands of booze?”

ooc: Where were you going, while having this conversation? Taking Tander's body to a temple? Which one?
I guess we never decided, but Merkari's temple would be the obvious choice. Assuming the priests there determine that Tander's spirit will be staying in the afterlife, that case is pretty much closed.

Palindrome's corpse will be recovered as well, and both corpses relieved of their gear.

We probably also need to go potion shopping again. :erm:

The order in which we do this doesn't really matter to Woe, but he would prefer we start by snatching Palindrome with a quick grab-and-run expedition.[/sblock]

To Covaithe: I think we stopped somewhere we could hide in the bushes and from there notice their characters as the advance closer to us.

This is the plan after we have encountered Nerdytenors and Kenhoods characters:
1. Loot Palindrome and the orc's corpses
2. Move back to town to raise Tander at Merkari's temple and take our leave (Buy potions while we are in town and perhaps take an extended rest)
3. Go and stop the cult!

ooc: to sum up...

Atreus and Woe retreat from the site of the disastrous battle, carrying Tander's body. When they have gone a safe distance, they step behind a convenient set of bushes to rest and bind their wounds. Woe comes to his senses, and relates to Atreus his tale of, uh, woe.

They are busy readying themselves for the next part of their plan when the sounds of bickering voices comes from ahead on the trail. Woe drops Tanders body and readies his weapon, noting the scent of booze on the air.

Meanwhile, Kathalia has led Hacker north of the city in the direction of the ancient barrows there, a cemetery of sorts, where a number of different kinds of mushrooms grow avidly. The path is quiet and seldom travelled, and they are quite surprised to round a corner and see a startled human warrior, in bloodstained scale armor, holding a spear whose blade crackles with electricity. Nearby is another human, a slight figure with a large black dagger. A third human lies on the ground nearby, body frozen in an unnatural position.

[sblock=ooc]Right, now you're all in the same place at least.[/sblock]
