Helped by Hacker's hints, Kathalia spots a smear of dried blood on a cluster of rocks on the hillside. Investigating, she sees that when viewed from a certain angle, there is an opening in the rocks just large enough for a person to pass through, leading into the ground. There are several small impressions in the soft ground here that could be footprints, and even a bit of fabric in the same color as Palindrome's overalls caught on a protruding corner.

[sblock=ooc]Skill challenge: Success! If you're going down there, please tell me a marching order and describe your light sources and any precautions you're taking.[/sblock]

[sblock=Huzzah!]Awesometastic!

Would it be ok to get XP at this point, since it would level Woe up to 3? Pretty please? :)[/sblock]

Hacker's pretty tough for a little guy, but he's a ranged attacker, so I'd like him either third or fourth in our line. He's got an everburning torch for illumination.

[sblock=XP?] I'd prefer not to. While I'm fairly flexible about awarding xp at times other than extended rests, I do think that it's nice to wait for a natural break in the flow of the adventure. I don't really see this as qualifying, sorry. :(

Does that seem reasonable?

[sblock=OOC]That's ok, just thought I'd ask. I suppose the motivation particularly comes from experiencing how deadly the game is. :p

Conversely, its probably a good idea to stop for an extended rest, now that we found the hideout. Atreus is wounded and out of surges, he'd likely get killed if we got into a fight now (taking into account how our fights usually goes).[/sblock]

Kathalia is sort of a controller-striker-leader hybrid, but she's really fast (speed 8), so it almost doesn't matter where in the order she goes. I'd suggest Woe, then Kathalia, then Atreus, then Hacker.

I Definitely agree we need an extended rest for the survivors of the last fight. :)

Yup, extended rest would be nice, but that won't stop Atreus if we need to move on.

So the question is, should we rest here so we could watch the cave or should we go down to town where we can purchase healing potions and get a prober rest? We could also split the group? What do you say?

Question to Covaithe: I completely forgot about something, when we left Tander, Atreus wanted to borrow his magical necklace until he is brought back to life. In the case he doesn't get resurrected, he could always keep the necklace ;).

[sblock=Robbing the dead]Sure, taking his valuables before stashing his body in the wilderness... where there are known body-snatchers... seems like a sensible precaution. It's just looking out for him, really; what if some filthy corpse-looters came along while you were away? [/sblock]

ETA: So, resting or not? And if so, where?

[sblock=Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle!]Yeah, I kind of forgot about Tander's corpse for a while there. Woe did explicitly hide it, though, and his Stealth mod isn't too shabby.

In that case, Woe will be "holding on to" Tander's 44 gp, ritual book, and sunrods - potential ressurections potentially cost money, after all! ;)[/sblock]
