"Daddy always told me to carry my bow," Kathalia says, wiping explosive remains from her face.

OOC: Ready ranged basic attack with bow against first enemy Kathalia sees

Round 1

Woe gives vent to his anger, but cannot shake off his dizziness.

Hacker tosses his torch forward and prepares his instrument, hand ready to strike a deceptive chord.

Atreus slips into the shadows, sling at the ready.

Kathalia's clothing smolders; she seems to have forgotten about it, though, and nocks an arrow, sighting down the corridor.

Around the corner comes a tremendous, mindless bellow of inhuman torment and rage. With thundering, ponderous footfalls, a nightmarish abomination comes around the corner. Standing nearly nine feet tall, the barely-humanoid creature stands on two mismatched legs, stitched crudely to a bloated, patchwork torso made of the chests and limbs of half a dozen once-living creatures. You recognize a large, fairly fresh-looking bit, still dripping, as coming from a certain half-orc of recent acquaintance. The creatures arms, all three of them, are a many-jointed farrago of gristle and hairy hide dangling down well past its knees, as if a number of miscellaneous limbs were dismembered, the pieces set end to end in random order, and partially healed. Its head is disturbingly human, mostly intact, and screaming nonstop through fleshy lips.

Hacker, unimpressed, strikes a jangling chord. The creature claps two hands to its ears, one of them a spindly little appendage on a fourth arm, from where its shoulder blade should be, and bellows in pain. Atreus also strikes home with a sling bullet. Kathalia's arrow is less successful; she cannot seem to stop the world from spinning long enough to aim. The flesh golem charges Woe, but its blow is clumsy and easily dodged.

Next around the corner are a trio of refreshingly ordinary zombies. The lurching forms seems slightly familiar, and after a moment Woe and Atreus recall the family of humans who fell to the invisible foes -- was it only yesterday? They lurch rapidly forward, but are unable to reach you.

Another figure appears at the corner, but does not round it. You see a small humanoid, or what small part of him protrudes around the corner, casting a spell. Suddenly a sickly green mist forms out of thin air somewhere behind the flesh golem, spreading out to choke the tunnel with viscous haze.

[sblock=ooc]Woe takes 5 ongoing fire damage, heals 11 from second wind, and doesn't save. He's no longer bloodied.

Hacker tosses the torch forward and readies an attack. Note Misdirected Mark has range 10; it won't fire unless someone comes in range.

Atreus gets his sling, hides, and readies an attack.

Kathalia takes 5 ongoing fire damage and readies an attack. She becomes bloodied. She fails to save.

A flesh golem rounds the corner. All three readied attacks fire, though Hacker's a bit later than the others. Atreus hits for 19 damage. Kathalia misses with an 11. Hacker hits with 19 vs. reflex, for 9 damage and the flesh golem is marked by Woe. It charges Woe; 15 vs. AC misses.

Zombies 1, 2, and 3 double move.

Goblin hexer moves to K25 and casts vexing cloud, burst 3 on F20. Bad guys within the cloud get concealment, good guys within the cloud take -2 to attack rolls.

All PCs are up.

"Move yer *****, Woe!" (Free Action: Bardic Virtue -- Hacker slides Woe 1 square. Where do you want him, Dunamin?)

"Hey, Paulie Pustule," shouts Hacker at the flesh golem, "Yeah, you! The ***** freak with the borrowed body parts! Your ***** is grass, and I am the herd of sheep that's going to strip it to its roots." (Minor Action: Designate Prey (Bravo) -- +2 to attacks and damage vs. golem until EONT.)

"Oh, and by the way, you multi-slack-jawed wad of meat," says Hacker, plucking a chord, "Catch the dancing note."

The sound becomes light and dances around the monster's head. (Standard Action: Blunder -- v. Will (1d20+8=12, 1d6+7=11). If the attack hits, the golem slides to H16, and Woe performs a basic attack with a +5 to attack.)

"Stop ***** around with the arrows, and chew that thing a new one, Kathalia!" (Minor Action: Majestic Word -- Kathalia can spend a healing surge and gains +4 HP. Hacker slides Kathalia to F15.)

"Move yer *****, Woe!" (Free Action: Bardic Virtue -- Hacker slides Woe 1 square. Where do you want him, Dunamin?)
Woe backs off and looks up at the many-limbed monster that lumbers through the obscuring mist before him.

“… Well, seems like there’re sticks here for a whole friggin’ wandering band of drummers. And they’re all going to be used for drumrolling that spellcasting sucker hiding over there in the back.”

The warrior glances over the limb-collection, trying to see if he can spot parts of Palindrome in there.

“I mean, I’ve seen piles of meat thrown together on the battlefield and in the bedroom, but Freaky Frankenscream here takes the cake.”

Woe beckons the golem closer with his spear crackling sparks in anticipation. He seems to have forgotten - or ignored - that parts of him are still on fire.

“Heeere, Frankie Frankie Frankie. Come here, boy! Come and get a treat!”

[sblock=Actions and Tactics]Slide to G15 with Hacker’s Virtue of Cunning.
Standard: Ready to attack with spear reach power. When triggered, Woe hits AC 19 and deals 8 lightning damage (marks regardless of hit).
If Hacker’s power allows Woe an attack, he hits AC 15 and deals 8 damage. I forgot Hacker’s power bonus, so that’s actually a hit of 20.
Woe does not save

We need to get that cloud out of the picture, so Woe is backing up to draw them out of it. Alternatively perhaps we could disable it by taking out the hexer, but Woe at least can’t do that while trying to hold back the forces. Perhaps Kathalia due to her speed or Atreus due to his striker-mojo?

ooc: Quick results: hacker misses. Woe's attack hasn't resolved yet, but will likely miss due to concealment, unless something changes.

[sblock=OOC]
Quick question to Covaithe: Can the flesh golem stand in the sq's G15, G16 and H15,H16. I was thinking of using positioning strike to slide it there, if it possible, then me and Woe could take care of the golem while Kathalia took care of the goblin!

Quick question to Covaithe: Can the flesh golem stand in the sq's G15, G16 and H15,H16.

Hmm. I think I'd say yes, he can stand in G-H,15-16, but not in H17. However, keep in mind that 1) when you use forced movement to move someone, they must have a clear path: each square of movement must be a square that they could walk into normally, with no squeezing or passing through enemies' squares; and 2) Woe is in G15 now from the Hacker's slide.

[sblock=OOC]
Ok, thanks for the clarification. Hmm, too bad I can move him where I planned, I will wait a round to see what happens. Perhaps if you guys make some room, I could slide him into a desired position and then flank it with Woe or someone else.

Atreus grabs his dark dagger and in one fluent motion throws it at the flesh golem. Then he pushes himself up against the rock wall and hides from his enemies.
[sblock=Actions]
Standard Action: Attacks Flesh Golem with Sly Flourish, with his magic dagger, hit AC 27 and does 12
Move Action: hides up against the wall if possible, got 30

"Stop ***** around with the arrows, and chew that thing a new one, Kathalia!"
"You know just how to talk to a girl, Hacker, but I've got other things to attend to first" Kathalia says, still swooning from the rum-barrel attack. (OOC: Kathalia burns for 5, and heals 13 from Hacker for a net of +8 hp). She draws another arrow and lets loose at the lumbering monstrosity (OOC: Ranged basic attack hits AC 17 for 13 damage. I just realized Elven Accuracy does not work the way I thought it did - I don't get to find out if I missed first - duh. In which case I will let the 17 stand (full disclosure - I rolled a 14 in advance 'IF the first one missed' - but, yeah. I must need sleep or something)) as the flames burning her dim and die out (OOC: made save)

OOC Tactics: Hmm - this cavern environment is not so hot for Kathalia. She'd like to get at the hexer, but she'd draw too many opp attacks with nowhere to escape post-attack. Not that it mattered this turn, being dazed... Let's see how the field evolves.
