The Dance of Souls

"Well, at least now I know that orcs don't speak giant. Orcish sounds surprisingly like common. I bet I could learn that, given enough time to understand the intricate qualities of the stuttered and slurred words. Azeroth, since you seem to speak their native language, I'll let you do the talking. And the listening. Once you've figured out where we can get a bed, give me a whistle. Until then, I'll just take a look around."

I see. Well we will have to check both of those out.

I was wondering are there many other guards that guard the entrance like this? Or is it your posts to be here?

he turns to Gur and nods in agreement.

"We're workin' in shif's, if dad's yar ques'ion. Naw, ho' lon' do ya plan on stan'in' 'round 'ere idly? Ya can't trade by chattin' wid da city watch." The guards give you a quick pointer to the two inns, with angry glances towards Gur.

Rose Marie stays with Jasper near the middle of the pack. She looks the orcs, half-orcs, wolf-creature, and so on over with curiosity but no fear. Jasper isn't so sure, especially about the wolf. He looks especially happy with the wolf-creature walks off to continue its patrol.

"Personally, I'd prefer the Scimitar. We can always go to the other place for a drink or meal and to trade."

(ooc: Sorry for my slowness. Been having computer issues)

I apologize for taking up your time I am sure you are very busy. But perhaps you can give me enough of your time to answer one more question. I was curious if you had seen two humans come in here, both would almost look like lions due to their hair. They are comrades of ours and we have business to discuss with them.

"Two hum'ns? Jus' how many hum'ns do ya dink come drou' 'ere ev'ry day?" the one guard starts, and the other adds "Long 'air isn't dat rare, an' we don' see ev'rybody, so I s'pose yar' bedder of askin' in an inn. An' wid a bedder descrip'ion."

OOC: Hopefully I'm not moving ahead of ourselves. If anyone has more questions for the guard, go ahead and ask them.

IC:
Beamer gladly allows his weapons to be peace bound.

On the way to the Dancing Scimitar, Beamer keeps a particular eye out to avoid any pick pockets. While walking, Beamer says, "I could use a bath and a bite to eat after all that walking. That would also give us a moment alone to discuss our strategy for 'getting the best prices' while we're here."

Beamer will let someone taller and more likely to be taken seriously negotiate prices at the inn. While in the common room, he will look around for anyone who looks like they would know the local gossip: merchants, busy bodies, clergy, anyone who looks to be giving orders.

(Since it sounds you prefer to go to the Scimitar first, for now)

The guards peace-bind Banions' sling, then snort at Azaroth's tip with a "no bribes." They give their names as Doran and Tegar.

On the way to the Scimitar, you can see people of all kind, though mostly humans and half-orcs. Few of them are what you would consider "high-class," and many are beggars - usually missing limbs.

You reach the inn without incident (that you notice). The common room is filled with murmurs from the various patrons. While you cannot tell who would be merchants, you can see a man in a wide, dark cloak wearing a grey, circular pendant with a green silhouette of a falcon head. You recognize the holy symbol of Taka - and though the two nobles told you that she is openly revered here, you are surprised to find a priest openly wearing the symbol.
You also see a human in leather armor, wearing the insignia of the city watch.
The bar is quite large, fully running along the long side of the room, at each end a barrel. The barman, a rotund man with dark hair and eyes, whistles as he seems to prepare drinks and plays a board game with one of the patrons at the same time. On first glance, the game might be chess, but there are differences.
