The Dance of Souls

In for a silver, in for a gold. Banion thinks. If only these tall folks didn't have such long legs... I probably can't even run away.

"I have business with Tennar. Is he available?"

Banion hears the door being unlocked and then sees it opened. He might have prefered it stayed closed, seeing three short swords pointed at him. One of the men says "Just a precaution. Come in." then nods at a fourth man. "Get Tennar." That man leaves the warehouse and hustles down the street. Turning again to you, the speaker asks "So, when did you meet Tennar?"

"I've been sent by a man who met him by chance at the Scimitar. This man has gone into hiding, and has asked me to exchange some information with Tennar."

Banion's kept a pretty low profile, and some of the groups enemies may not know of him. If they construe what he says to mean he is merely a messenger or hireling, so much the better.

"Sorry Gur, I don't have any." Beamer moves to the last row of buildings and peaks around the corner. Looking along the wall in either direction, he sees . . .

If he doesn't see anything to climb on in either direction, he suggests, "We should just follow the wall in one direction. We're bound to get to somewhere we can climb or a gate. If it's a guarded gate, I can use a ghost sound to try to lure the guards away while we make a break for it."

OOC: How far along the wall can he see in either direction? Are there any buildings butted up to the wall? Are there any stairs to the top of wall in either direction? Is there a walkway along the wall, or does it just end in the top? Anything to hinder climbing over, such as spikes?

"I see..."
After about 15 minutes, Tennar appears, cautiously approaches, being informed by his men, and asks "Well, mister, who sent you in the middle of the night, and what is so important?"

Beamer and the rest:
The wall obviously isn't designed to keep someone in, and you have some doubt if it could keep someone out who really wants in by all means possible. Nothing hinders climbing up, but no stairs are in sight. Though there might be some stairs further up north, you cannot exactly tell.

"Those might be some stairs over there. Lets move over that direction and see if we can find some. We'll probably have to climb down and the less climbing the better."

"A man named Azaroth, Sir. Perhaps you will choose to enlighten me on the matter, for the message seems to be in code, and I do not entirely understand it. I am to recite the following:

'A matched set: Samuels, the red haired barmaid, and four drinks. The bird's claw is of ash, and fills the shadows. A mountain keep holds a dance. Where does it lie?'"

Finishing, Banion musters his dignity.

"I have been told to wait for a reply. I must say sir, I hope your reply is more clear than his request. I assure you that I am a reliable messenger, and can be trusted with plainer words than these!"

Lets hope the town is still relatively easy to get out of. It has still been relatively soon since our encounter. If luck is on our side its taking them a bit longer to fully assemble the guards.

Heh remind me to buy rope at the next town. Its something it seems every adventurer shouldn't be without.

OOC: Interesting presentation of the situation Patlin.

"Master Gamekiller sent you?" Tennar's face lightens up, but darkens as you "recite" your "coded message."

"Samuel and Jeriane, that isn't really surprising, everyone knows the two are lovers. Four drinks, I assume refers to this Fourdrinker guy, who is presumably connected with the criminal portions of society (but really, who isn't?), so he might be a member of the thieves guild. If these three are connected, that would make Samuel a wolf in sheeps clothes... explains a few things, though I'd really have expected Garum... anyway. 'The bird's claw is of ash' propably refers to these Talon guys in some way, 'fills the shadow' propably means that the Talon controls the thieves guild, the 'shadow,' and by extension, the first three... A mountain keep?... There are many mountain keeps, how would we find out which... unless..."
