The Dance of Souls

"In my opinion, stopping to speak to Tenar will increase our chances of being intercepted on our way out of the city by a substantial margin. Are you sure you want to do this?"

Banion is still fairly ramped up from the recent fight, and seems tense.

Yes its dangerous I know. But any information we can ascertain about our current situation could turn the tides in our favor. But we are hunted now which is why we'll need stealth as opposed to just walking in the door. Beamer and you did a good job of tailing us while Gur and I were meeting up with Fourdrinker, perhaps him and you could sneak into Tennar's Warehouse and talk to him. Meanwhile Gur and I can check the surrounding landscape for any trails that might lead us to the keep where the Dance is being held. What do you think?

OOC: Do the characters actually know that Rose and Sam have escaped?

"Very well. There's no reason to endanger both of us, however. One can sneak where even two would draw battle. I will proceed quietly to speak with Tennar and check on Sam and Rose. The rest of you, stick together and make haste to get out of the city."

Banion names a landmark that the adventurers passed coming into town.

"If I don't join you within 6 hours, consider me captured. Does this sound allright to you, Beamer?"

"I could help you if you want. I have a few spells left that would be useful for creating a diversion if need need arose. But the need might not arise as easily if you go alone. Take the art piece. If Tennar seems willing, you could try to set up a meeting with all of us and him outside the city sometime later. If only the mountains were closer, I think we could get by with just a stake out, but here is no telling what path they would take to the mountains 300 miles away." Beamer hands Banion a sheet of paper, pen and ink. "Here, take these. If you can't get in to see him for some reason, you can leave him a note, but only if you can place it where only he can find it."

"300 miles? I hadn't realized the mountains were so far. Unless you want me to actually give the art piece to Tennar, I would prefer you keep it. There is a significant chance I may be captured, and there is no reason to give them any more information than necessary."

Banion takes the paper, pen and ink.

"I still think it's best if you stay with the others."

"Janur, the man I talked to in the Scimitar, said the closest mountains were the Stonespikes, which are around 300 miles away. We'll keep the art piece for now then. Good luck and godspeed."

SlagMortar said:
"Good luck and godspeed."

Banion nods, and without another word heads off. He moves slowly and quietly, trying his best to be invisible. ooc: Hide +12, Move Silently +10. He will take 10 on these checks if allowed.

As he heads toward the Inn, he tries to find other stealthy figures, knowing the local thieves guild is among the opposition. Spot +4, Listen +6.

Alright any suggestions on how to escape the city undetected? I'm afraid our last battle left me with very few spells to use. But I agree with Banion we must get out of the city quickly if we are to survive.

OOC: Knight could you do your best to describe our current surroundings. we are inside a building I know. But does it have alot of windows and such? Are we relatively high off the ground?, etc.

Banion sneaks off into the darkness towards the Scimitar, as Beamer, Azaroth and Gur sneak off into direction of the city wall, which is 15 feet high. Both groups reach their destination unhindered.

Banion does not find Sam or Rose, but finds a note written by Rose, stating that they were warned by an anonymous friend, and left the city as a result. He finds no such note by Sam - which is not surprising, as Sam propably missed the fact that they would not meet up with you.

Retracing his steps from the Scimitar to Tennar's warehouse, Banion is almost sure that there should be some member of the thieves guild, or possibly the Talon, waiting in ambush... but the streets are quiet...
