The Dance of Souls

OOC: Just FYI when I had created Azaroth and gave him Hastur I didn't think about the whole 100gp cost to summon a familiar thing. I realized this when we leveled. So I stripped him of every special ability he would of had as a familiar, reverted his intellegence and he is just now a pet. So that wouldn't really help us all that much.

Good luck with finding the paths Banion. As Beamer has said its better than taking the main road. I am going to wait here with him.

Azaroth will stay in the cover/shade, though it won't be as easy for him to hide. So he'll just make sure to keep his weapon at the ready.

Gur and Banion take an hour to check likely paths and easily navigable slopes, and think they may have found a good, if slow, route keeping them off the main path, and share that discovery on their return.
On that note, everyone gets to rest, with Azaroth taking the first watch...

Banions last thought before sleeping is satisfaction at having found a less direct route. His dreams begin with the flashing of fluid, electric blades. (Unless modified by an outside force, he dreams of dueling with vague opponents, his blade shifting in shape and seeming at one moment to be almost a normal blade and then at another point to be white hot and surging with power.)

Azaroth will stand up and start quietly walking inside the camp. As if in combat, giving himself a whispered narration.

The night was quiet, the stars were shining dimly up above. I stood before the entrance to the demons den, *he holds his sword up to face Thundercats style* confident in my capabilities. The foul beast had stolen my love and it was up to me to save her. The minions of the creature had already fallen before me and only he remained. Together with the power of my magic, the blade of my scimitar, and the companionship of the all powerful Weasel Hastur we would storm his gates and come out victorious *holds sword up in the air*

We'd strike quickley *thrusts sword in combat motions a couple of times*, strongly *slashes sword*, and save my queen from the grasp of the demon. We'd rescue her and take her back to the surface, holding her in my arms. Under the quiet glow of the stars we would hold each other. The night would be made for us. *hastur squeaks* ah thats true! For the all powerful Hastur there would be a lifetime supply of food, and perhaps the companionship of a royal lady weasel.*hastur squeaks again*

What do you say old boy? Would that suffice? *hastur squeaks again* *azaroth will chuckle to himself*.

Banion:
[sblock]You exchange swift strikes with the vague opponent. As the fight rages on, the enemy becomes clearer and clearer - it is Officer Samuel, but something is strange still. Samuel always strikes unerringly at the place you want to dodge, only to stop short. As if he is teasing you. He knows exactly where you are. He is seeing your every move. He always has, you now realize. It was all part of his plan. He is in league with someone you trust, obviously.
Unless you find out who the traitor is, Samuel and his servants will always know your every move. You look around, fully knowing the traitor is here, watching the fight. Then, suddenly!
Samuel jumps at you, right into your mindblade. Only then you realize... this wasn't Samuel. Your eyes widen in shock as you realized whom you killed. It was ...[/sblock]
And that is where Gur wakes you to take the next watch.

Azaroth:
Your little narration over, along with your watch, you wake Gur to take the next watch, the go to sleep yourself.
[sblock]The keep has finally been reached. Your goal is right there in front of you. But at what cost? Only Beamer is still with you. He has grown in strength, considerably. The keep... you were here before, weren't you? Why do you think of Dancing Souls? The keep has nothing to do with dancing, and only in a perverted form with souls. No, it is here where you can perform it...

the ritual of bonding. Here you will find the fiend. Here, you will wear its skin. You enter through the grand portal...

And feel a stabbing pain. Looking down, a long blade protudes from your chest. But doesn't that mean?...

So, you want to wear my skin? Just after I reobtained most of my powers? Beamer's voice... Did he, is he? You look back at the halfling. Has he always had those wings? Was he always that big?
It's amusing, really. I am actually ready for it. But you aren't. Didn't it ever occur to you that... to wear a fiend's skin... you should shed your own skin?
With that, Beamer - the fiend - calmly starts to flay the skin off your flesh...
The pain... it is maddening... With a shock, you wake up, the images of your dream still running through your mind.
You take 2 points of temporary Wisdom damage.

Beamer:
[sblock]Now you've done it. Great.

It's taken you long enough. I was long overdue.

You watch the shallow puddles. What is taking them so long? You think to yourself. They are also long overdue now. They should arrive any second now. Idly, you poke a puddle with a stick. The acid in the puddle quickly begins to eat away the wood.

You're a bit surprised that the acid still lingers around. Your spell was even more potent than you thought.

Where are they? You're getting a bit nervous. They should have been here already. Then...

A bubbling sound arises from one, then two of the puddles. Skeletons begin to arise from the puddles. Finally. They have arrived. Your creations. Your...[/sblock]
This is where Banion wakes you for your watch.

Beamer is awakened with a start by Banion, the words of a spell forming on his lips as he digs in his pouch, afraid. Seeing Banion, he regains his senses. "Ah, Banion is it only you." He pauses for several deep breaths.

Banion said:
Clearly, we are under attack. The dreams I had were *not* normal.
What Banion said finally registers. Yes, dreams. Only dreams. "Banion, what is it you dreamt of?"

OOC: Note, Beamer's watch was last. Unless Azaroth awakens during Banion's watch (which is entirely possible), Beamer would have already been awake when Azaroth awoke. Just wanted to clarify.
