The Dance of Souls

I agree. We can only hope our stay here will be limited to 3 days at most. Lest the dreams engulf our minds.

*once a spot is settled Azatoth will sit down and make a note in his journal about the things that have transpired since leaving home*

Banion suggests the head several hours travel back the way they came. He's willing to wait a week, or even two, as long as supplies can be obtained.

Actually wait hold on a second guys. The fact is We are hunted people. I'm sure that with so much down time they might come up realize we are gone. Besides the two thieves know we are after them and may have figured we'd find out about this place. The fact is we don't have all the time in the world. As terryfying as the thought may be we should press forward if we have to spend another night at the keep we should sleep much further apart so even if the dreams do come we won't be close enough to do anything we might regret.

Now that I've thought about it guys I think we really need keep moving.

"I agree they probably know we have escaped the city, but that is all they know. They may be expecting attack, but I would rather ambush a caravan that is expecting attack than try to assault a keep even if the keep is not expecting an attack. If we wait a few days for a caravan, and nothing comes up the road, we can still go to the keep. I think it is worth the delay, though I am getting tired of sleeping outside."

"I'm just a lot more comfortable fighting bad guys than dreams. I vote for setting up an ambush."

ooc: Knight, feel free to give us a kick in the pants at any time. :) I hereby consent to being subject to Bigby's Giant Hand of Let's Get On With The Plot.

Banion will do whatever the group decides, but does not relish the thought of one or more of us being driven insane. We've probed the defences enough to know that the threat isn't entirely a bluff. Moving forward without some defense seems to me to be the equivalent of jumping off a cliff and simply hoping the fall won't kill us. Banion is by no means that desperate yet.

ooc: Azaroth will vote for keeping on moving. But seeing as how its 2 to 1 I guess that means we are camping.

Though I strongly advise against this, its up to all of us to watch out for each other so we shall wait. I just hope we don't miss our chance to get these two theives.

The group travels back for a few hours, on the outlook for a good ambush spot. As Gur points one out, hopefully outside the keep's nightmarish effect, you set up your ambush (what tactics?).

Perhaps surprisingly, after a few more hours of waiting, a cart does appear on the path below. Neither of the six faces look familiar, though - no Samuel, no red-haired barmaid.
Azaroth:
[sblock]A man on the cart seems to be playing with a black, curved object. From your point of view it is hard to tell, but it could be a talon...[/sblock]

Banion glances at it shrewdly. Does it appear to be heading into the nightmare region? If there is a chance that is might be headed elsewhere than into the keep, he supposes that the party will need to ready for battle and then call out a challenge.

Otherwise...

"Ready your magics. They outnumber us, and this could get messy."

He disapears into the shadows, bringing his mindblade into existence as he does so.
