The Dance of Souls

Hmm I am not sure how well I'd be able to stablize her. But regardless I believe we should get her off the road. Also as a precaution we should remove her armor and weapons and put them away from her.
*Azaroth will start undoing the straps on her armor and removing the pieces. If she is not wearing anything on underneath her armor, he will put his shirt on her, and if thats not enough to cover her completely he will ask the others for clothing contributions. Then he will pick her up and take her to the camp site. where he will tie her up.*

OOC: Knight I'd like to make a Knowledge Arcana check as well as a Spellcraft check on the Trinket. Knowledge Arcane: 1d20+4=24 Spellcraft: 1d20+4=22 I want to see if I can tell what spell is active on the trinket.

*upon picking her up*

Beamer and Banion when I originally checked for magic on the cart the aura I was receiving from this trinket suggested Illusion or slight Divination being active on this item. I would suggest that one of us cover it up with something. We don't want to risk exposing our camp site.

Banion does his best to save any of the fallen enemies he can from death, then divests them of any equipment that might help them turn the tables on the victorious adventurers. In addition to the obvoious weapons and armor, the little halfling also confiscates spell component pouches, holy symbols, and spellbooks. Anything that looks questionable or that Banion does not recognize a purpose for he will also take, and certainly anything that has been identified as magical.

Apart from Cado and the elf, everyone was human.

You find a talon-shaped object with each of the 6. Besides, there are two more magical potions, on on the cleric, and one on the elf. The elf also has a book with what appears to be arcane writing.
On mundane equipment, the ambushed group has a masterwork banded mail, a mw quarterstaff (Cado), a normal quarterstaff (the elf), a leather armor, a longspear (second human female), mw padded armor and a mw longspear (the priest), a halberd (the driver), and a scythe and a leather armor (the scythebearer). The wagon contains a number of rations and ropes, as well as the kind of robes you have seen on the Ashen Talon agents (suspected and confirmed ones). Gathering the valuables, a quick count indicates about 400 gp.

Banion finds that the scythe warrior is dead. He must have died shortly after his fall. The others are in various shaped of stability, and those who aren't stable are stabilized pretty easily

After being sure that everything magic has been accounted for, Beamer glances around for a place to move the wagon off the road. Beamer picks up one of the talons and while examining it says, "Should we try to disguise ourselves and drive the wagon into the Keep, or should we try to hide the wagon and extra equipment here and then pick them up on our way back? If the latter, we should take the horses with us. And what are we to do with these folks?"

Tonight before sleeping, Beamer casts Read Magic and looks over the spell book to see what spells are contained therein (assuming that's possible).

OOC: Is there anywhere to move the wagon off the road and out of sight? I'd heard a rumor on the Wizard's boards that wizards always carried thousands of low level scrolls and that's why they are better than sorcerers. Too bad our friendly Talon wizard didn't. ;)

The talons still give off the same auras - divination and illusion. One of the potions gives off a transmutation aura, and the other an illusion aura.

You think you can move the wagon to your camp of the night.

(You should cut a second level NPC wizard some slack - they don't read the min/max boards :p)

(I believe Banion wanted to interrogate at least one of the talons?)

Gur asks if anyone needs healing, but refuses to use the wand on the Talon members.

Banion wouldn't know how to begin an interrogation, other than by asking a few polite questions and simply hoping to get some answers. His efforts to save the villains from death was simply out of respect for life. While Banion realizes that live enemies are a liability, he is not so rutheless as to take the more convenient and safer route.

Banion shows Gur the extent of his injuries, and requests healing.

Gur uses two charges from his wand, and Banion is as good as new.

(I assume you'll want to... ask a few polite questions, then. To whom? Cado?)

NOte: I don't want to just take the lead when others may have a suggestion. But I believe that if they answer our questions we should take them into the cart tomorrow and blindfold them, then lead them out a bit and let them go. But they might also be used as a bargaining chip. Or if they answer our question we could kill them all anyways. Or if you guys have any suggestions why not bring them up now.

ooc: I'll modify my post depending on what we decide. But for now this post will go with the course of action of letting them go and blindfolding them and what not.

*back at the camp Azaroth walks over to cado and squats before her*

Hello Cado I am Azaroth, I'd like to ask you a few questions about your organization and about the keep that you were on your way to. If you answer all of our questions easily and politely I can assure you and your companions a safe release.

Lets get things started shall we. Perhaps you can tell me what these are for? *holds up one of the talon trinkets*

ooc: Knight can you describe Cado.

Banion would be very upset if the prsioners were to come to any harm while in the party's custody. As long as someone else is willing to ask questions, he is content to listen. As is his habit, he tries to be as inconspicuous as possible, dropping out of sight if possible.
