Banion will take 10 on his hide and move silently checks, keeping to the densest cover possible. If long grass and little else provides cover, he will crawl through on his belly to remain unseen.

Banion sneaks along the path towards the keep. The closed gate is large, and the wall has several small windows. Occasionally, people pass them, but don't look out. It appears the keep has one floor... unless other floors are beneath the earth. You believe you hear someone speaking behind the gate, but you aren't near enough yet to understand what is talked about.

If cover permits, Banion will sneak a bit closer and see what he can overhear.

Banion sneaks a further, and he can finally make out what appears to be the end of a conversation:

"... but at least we can expect the return of the search team soon. I almost hope that team wasn't lucky either, so that a new team may be formed." - "Still, I'd prefer the replacement from Lathirn would arrive. Unusual that they'd be late."

Remaining still and continuing to hide, Banion continues to listen.

It appears that the conversation is over.

Checking the surroundings, besides the path you and your companions are approaching on, there is one other path that the mentioned seach team may approach on, coming from deeper in the mountains.

Sneaking back to his companions, Banion tells them what he has overheard. In hushed tones, he asks the others if they wish to ambush the search team, should they be able to intercept it away from the keep.

Banion I could support that idea. However I wonder if thats already been taken care of. Perhaps their search team was the group with Cadoreysien and her companions. Hence why they were carrying these talon trinkets with the divination enchantment on them.
