This was less about "romance", though, and more about me being an intelligent, polite, and charming young man in one of her classes while she was going through the end of a bitter divorce. That would've been BAD. VERY BAD. You'd have been another spot on the local news about a student with his teacher getting caught..... And I doubt your fiance (at that time) would've liked that.......
