I posted a thread about this back when G4 fired nearly all the TechTV employees and cancelled all the shows but X-Play, Screen Savers, and Anime Unleashed. It sucked then and still sucks now.

If TechTV was profitable, then someone may revive it in some form or another.
If it wasn't profitable, then it was never meant to be.
Actually, TechTV was doing quite well and seen by more people than G4. That's why G4 acquired it. No one can "revive" it since G4 owns the company.
The fact the G4 has essentially killed off TechTV is just an example of the horrible business thinking that goes on at that company. The TechTV shows were the highest rated on the network.
Two of the new shows they are adding are: A program about drift racing and Girls Gone Wired.
Drift racing is basically racing while skidding. It only has a small following. It also has nothing to do with video games. It doesn't sound like many people are going to watch it. However, one of the VPs at G4 is an amateur racer, so they okayed his little vanity project.
Girls Gone Wired was the name of a segment on the now cancelled Unscrewed. This show is either going to be about female game characters or girl gamers. Either way, I can't imagine stretching this out into a series.
As for Screen Savers, it was dead when they moved to LA. It's a terrible show and the new hosts, Kevin P. and Chia Lan (sp?), are, um, well, they just flat out suck. Kevin P. expecially.
The breakdown of the show seems to be 95% games, 4% movies, tv, and other stuff, and 1% of the things Screen Savers used to talk about.
Will "Wesley Crusher" Wheaton was a host on one of the G4 shows, Arena. He had an entry in his blog about why he quit the show. Bascially, the producer was an angry idiot, they treated the contestants like crap, and they even rigged parts of the game (one team was made up of G4 employees, sometimes contestants would play for different teams, etc).
TechTV's dead and there's really nothing interesting on G4. They'll probably be back to almost the same numbers they had before the merger when all is said and done. :\
