Rolling the d12 instead ofa d20 and vice-versa invokes a terrible wrath upon the chance-seeker and may curse dice for years or even centuries.

The dice may be cursed for years or even centuries...

This seems like it could be an interesting adventure hook. I can see it now when the adventurer's happen across some dice in some old ruins. The chest is chained shut. Of course the DM will need to quickly put the PC's into a situation in the town where they can 'throw them bones...' The curse...
