The Dungeon Githyaki/Githzerai Obsession

I can remember when Dragon magazine had an obsession with the drow. I don't mind their recent obsession with the gith races, because the gith are cooler than the drow could ever hope to be.

Hey, I heard that!

Gith are just jaundiced bonehags... gimme a nice, juicy drowess any day over one of those monastic madman... mmm, hmm... :)

The Drows are soooo 80's...

Beside, the Githyanki and Githzerai are IP. Nobody outside of Wizards (and subcontractors like Paizo, of course) are allowed to use them.

If you want itty-bitty spiderkissing elves, look at the d20 publishers. Queen of Lies there, Essential Guide to Drow there, Drow City of Foobar (don't remember the name) there...
More drow than you can shake a spiked chain at!

I agree. My wife and I play a Githzerai and Githyanki in one game and whereas there's lots of info on Githyanki we can hardly find anything about Githzerai. We have to go back to the old 2e Planes of Chaos set for that (and I can't even find one of those for a reasonable price. =P )

I'd love for someone to do more on the Githzerai, just to see representation for the other half of the species. =)

Our campaign high levels consist for on intrigue with some battles. We usually do all high level casters of some sort. Which isn't saying much as we usually only have 2 players + DM. We use planes for very little stuff. We use extra dimensional stuff all the time, and once in a great great while we will go to Sigil to buy something we needed.

Our campaigns consist of world hopping (mainly from Forgotten Realms to Greyhawk), time travel (we went to Netheril once), and a few other things.

Gith fans might want to check out "Interlopers Of Ruun-Khazai" a 13th level adventure in Dungeon #92 written by David Noonan. Good Stuff.

This is a pretty good adventure, though I don't like the architecture of the fortress in it as much as the architecture in Fedifensor. Personally, I plan on dismantling the backstories for both and running them as a "1-2" punch on my players.

That is the cool thing about the gith. You don't always have to take the PC's to the planes you can just as "Incursion" does bring the fight to the PC's.

Also Demon Stone the new game that is from Forgotten Realms on the PS2 features an ongoing battle between the Githyanki and the Slaad as the basis for the plot.
