The Ebon Mirror: Dark Marks (Dunamin judging)

Kama'zer's scimitar leaves a sever gash in the bandit's arm, and he's definitely in bad shape now (bloodied).

Mri'thas' latest volley of arcane force also finds it's mark, and pushes the bandit to the brink of falling.

Finally, Soldier swings his axe in a vicious arc, and although the bandit nearly dodges it, the grazing blow from the blade still is enough to finish him off, and he falls to the ground a bloody heap (miss, but the Reaping Strike miss damage was enough to drop him).

Final Status
Kama'zer: 19/31
Mri'thas: 35/35
Soldier: 18/36
Ts'iri: 18/35
Callen: 28/28

"Thank goodness that's over," Tyrion says after the last bandit falls. "That fight seemed to frozen in time in the middle of it, and I wasn't sure which way it would go."

"If we press on, we should be able to reach the Brander's camp by late afternoon," Tyrion adds.

OOC: Let me know what you're doing healing-wise, and give me an updated stat block with your power usage, surge usage and current HP.

Let me know if you plan to do anything here before moving on.

Also, Voda Vosa, I believe that you still need to address some comments on Mri'thas before being approved for 2nd level. Please try to do that before our adventure wraps up, so as to not cause any problems with XP awards.

"Good lets keep going. I'd hate for him to get wind of this before we arrive." replies Callen.

[sblock=up to date stat block]HP: 28/28; Surges 8/8; AC 16, Fort 14, Refl 16, Will 16;
Action Points: 1/1
Second Wind: 1/1
Burning Hands: 1/1
Sleep: 0/1
Healing Word: 1/1
Staff of Defense: 1/1 [/sblock]

OOC: Kama'zer uses Inspiring Word to boost her Healing Surge, adding an additional 2 to her healing surge value of 7. This leaves her at 28/31 HP's and she will stay there. She can use her inspiring word encounter power to add 1d6 for anyone else using a healing surge as well.

Also, if I'm not mistaken we should all get an Action Point after this encounter as we haven't slept at least since before the battle against the rats on the ship. If I missed where we rested, somebody correct me and I'll put my Action Point total in the stat block back to zero.

IC: "Good job in that fight everyone. Soldier, you did very well especially for fitting into a new fighting group. Good teamwork on the flanking. That was one of our better battles yet I think." Kama'zer comments to the others.

"Thank you, Lady Kama'zer. Is there anything I could have done better?this was my first battle and I just acted on my insticts so there may have been some flaws in my tactics and I agree with master Callen, that we should hurry but we should check to see if they had anything of value on them." Soldier then goes to pick up his thrown handaxe and then checks the orc corpse for more handaxes or other kinds of loot and then he helps the party loot the rest of the corpses.

"Agreed. That went well, although I did end up having to stab someone with my knife. Not that I mind though since I'm not half bad with one."

OCC:
HP: 35/35[5 temp]; Surges 10/7. Two surges [16hp] uses (one with an Inspiring Word [1hp])

OOC: One more thing, gang... I know Kama'zer has received Exalted chain mail (and Halford had agreed to swap that for Hide armor, which I'm fine with... I'll work it in somehow) and Callen received Gloves of Piercing.

Could everyone give me wish lists, though, so I can reward you all appropriately (including what you want armor you want to swap, Phoenix)? Thanks!

OOC: I don't even remember talk of swapping the exalted armor for something in the hide category. I'm fine with the armor as is. We sure can use the help in healing that it gives. The only difference between that and Hide armor stat wise would be a speed of 6 instead of 5. I'm willing to live with it for now. It would be tricky to come up with a good IC reason for her armor to suddenly be changed anyway. Don't worry about it.

After a full afternoon of travel, the group sees faint smoke rising above a clearing. When they get close enough to the clearing, they see a motley assortment of ruffians. On the far side of a fire, over which rests a roasting sheep, is Brander.

The shadar-kai, with his chain wrapped over his shoulder, could be none other. To the right of Brander is an elf with a bow resting against the tent by which he sits, and to the left is a large orc with a greataxe - the lgith from the setting sun reflecting pale blue from its blade - strapped to his back. Amongst those three, surrounding the fire, are rough-looking human men, who are obviously followers here. The shadar-kai, elf, and orc are clad in leather armor, Brander's being of a particularly fine make, but the humans are unarmored, and carry but clubs as weapons.

As the party takes in the scene, however, they are spotted by the elf, who alerts the rest of the bandit gang!

Map Notes:

Light Green - normal terrain
Lime Green - trees and bushes. Difficult terrain, provides cover to those on the other side of the foliage and concealment to those within the foliage.
Yellow - tents. The heavy borders are walls, the door is a light border. Large enough to provide superior cover to those on the opposite side.
Red - fire. Anyone starting their turn in a square of fire takes 2d6 damage.
