The Ebon Mirror: Dark Marks (Dunamin judging)

Tyrion carefully steps over a protruding root and smiles at Kama'zer.

"Its a legend, the Ebon Mirror, its was created by some great human wizard and apparently it granted her great power. There have always been people seeking the Mirror, and it was supposed to be tied to our lands in some manner. My people have long wished that it could be forgotten as it drew undue attention to our small Kingdom. I am afraid that is all I could tell you, no doubt Thorgar and his minions are tearing our lands to pieces seeking it, but they will not find it, it is not in our lands - our former lands, no matter what legend says."

The Eladrin shrugs, and winces clutching at his arm.

"At least the elders will be able to heal this once we save Ashara."

Mri'Thas watches the exchange between the two githyanki and Tyrion. He seems relaxed, and his distant and arrogant behaviour (probably a curtain) is gone."Ts'iri mentioned before, that she had suffered some sort of amnesia, may be that erased such vital information." the wizard suggests. he turns his attention to the eladrin "That's strange. The one sky is our mantra, a way of life, it's all for us. We live under it, we fight for it, and we die for it." Mri'Thas eyes gaze Kama'zer again, this time with affection and sincerity, instead of doubt and fear. "Then your parent were members of the Reconciliation, or shared our goals. I'm a member of the Reconciliation myself, I was sent here to contact other gith and show them the path of mercy and comprehension, to drive them away from the almost religious fanaticism that tare our kin apart. I may have sounded arrogant and distant, even aggressive. I used to be like that, but now I use my former self just to don't get myself killed by the Armada." Mri'Thas explains. He looks at Tyrion ones more, with a sharp gaze

[sblock=Callen, Kama'zer, Mri'thras, Riar'lon and Ts'iri]The famous female Mage is almost certainly...

Arga the Black

Deceased for many years this wizardess still casts a long shadow as the greatest hero in Daunton's recent memory (except possibly for the Five). Tales of her wit, beauty, charm and fierce warrior spirit have become legends; most scholars doubt that she defeated the Blue Dragon Naxithalis in an areal battle above the city for instance. However her greatest contribution to Daunton's saftey is indisputably the Great Ritual of Sealing which cut off linkages between Daunton's interior forests and the feywild; ending the bloody humanoid attacks from Savage Land tribes and bringing piece to the war-torn city almost 50 years ago. She is featured prominently in plays about that era, most famously in the Years of Steel. Her adopted son and student Mauros Esthanapiros was famously devoted to her, visiting the her memorial statue (in a park at the edge of the city which faces into the interior that she pacified) regularly. [/sblock]

[sblock=Mri'thras] You recall some legends about the Great Ritual of Sealing, such a rite is seemingly beyond the power of any mortal spell caster. It has long been supposed that Arga the Black must have used some supremely powerful artifact in order to shape the transitive Isles as she did. There are several theories, that Arga was not mortal, that she had divine help, etc. One of the many scholarly theories is that Arga used a legendary item of her own creation dubbed the Ebon Mirror, rumored to lend its possessor phenomenal power, to allow her to complete the ritual.

You also recall a snipit of a poem scrawled in the margin of a treatise on magical theory.

Ebon Mirror tore apart,
dark reflections of one heart.
Called to serve from all and nought,
to bring together those who fought.

Try as you may you cannot recall the rest of the rhyme.[/sblock]

[sblock=Skill Challenge]OOC: We just need a skill check from Murphy to end this round, right? Not trying to be pushy, just got lost in all the conversation suddenly and nearly forgot the skill challenge we were navigating! :)[/sblock]

Tyrion shrugs,

"I have no idea, its just a legend, I doubt its real. But for half of my life creatures came to our Kingdom in search of it - they never found hide nor hair, but many of my people died in the process. Some few of the things seeking the Mirror believed that we Eladrin protected its secrets and they sought to extract those secrets..."

The Eladrin stamps on a sapling and grinds in his heel, his facial expression is one of resentful anger - though his ire does not seem to be directed at Riar'lon.

OOC: Murphy is up fopr the skill challenge, though we can start the next round if you wish - I am not too worried about coming back to someone in this particular instance.

"Let me answer that" Mri'Thas says "This mirror is a powerfull artifact, created by Arga the Black, rumored to lend its possessor phenomenal power, which would allow her to perform the Great Ritual of Sealing, such a rite is seemingly beyond the power of any mortal spell caster, that's why he needed this mirror. There are ew whispered mentions amongst scholars and one poem written about her and her mirror, from which I remember a particualr snipit:
Ebon Mirror tore apart,
dark reflections of one heart.
Called to serve from all and nought,
to bring together those who fought."
the ghityanki sings, with no elegance.

[sblock=Voda Vosa]To say there are many songs is a gross exageration, you only know of that one poen, and that required a DC 30 check! A few whispered mentions amongst scholars is more accurate.[/sblock]
