The EN World Selfie Thread

It wasn’t until I started having visibly thinning hair and showing some gray hairs that I mostly stopped getting carded.
When I was 16 there were a few places where I could buy beer & liquor and if I couldn't I never had trouble finding a buyer. After I turned 21, I rarely got carded. I had surgery in 2003, which I'd have been 27-28 at the time. After that I turned pretty gray almost overnight. I'd say I'm probably more gray than not, S&P is probably a good description. Now in New York State I think there's a law you have to show ID when purchasing alcohol, tobacco, controlled substances prescriptions or marijuana. I'm not sure if its legislation or stores covering their asses but it's a given you should have your ID ready nowadays. But on the other side of the coin you can purchase alcohol for home consuption 24/7. Which you couldnt buy it 3AM-8AM, 3AM to Noon on Sundays and liquor stores were closed on Sundays. Now it's open season, only limitation is finding a store open.

I’ve seen people who were OBVIOUSLY over 25 turned away from bars in Texas when they wouldn’t/couldn’t show ID.

When I was 16 me and my girlfriend used to go to this local dive. The first time we went there I had my brothers old license, and she had her sisters. The bartender carded us, started laughing her ass off, said "This isn't you. What do you want?". She served us anyway. That was a hole in the wall, literally. We we're seeing a friends band one night and I ran into a buddy who was drinking a bottle of Labatt Ice. I asked him where he got it because they didn't serve it there. He brought his own. There was a hole in the wall you could put a six pack in from the outside and get it from the inside.
