The end of our Ravenloft game

I've seen a lot of ravenloft threads lately so I thought I'd mention how our ravenloft campaign went. I made it from 7th level to 17th after a year and a half of gaming. The game ended when the party split up and headed in different directions.

Basically the game ended because the party had become so paranoid, so distrustful of everything and each other that we couldn't follow any plotlines. Everything liked like a setup, everyone could be manipulating us behind the scenes.

So in essence....Ravenloft won

Neat! Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Did you use the 3.0 or 3.5 versions done up by Sword & Sorcery or was this 2nd Edition? How did the rules work? Anything especially memorable about them?

Did you all start at 7th level at the beginning? Part of a plot point or just to survive?

What is your group going to tackle next? Got your sights on any other campaigns?

We originally used a fear/horror/and madness mechanic and then moved to the new taint mechanics. A few other houserules in their.

Yeah, we started at 7th for survival purposes The first half of the campaign was us stuck in a single closed border domain. We broke out, and explored the core of Ravenloft, the whole time being manipulated by the dark powers and so forth.

My group is tired of the horror and high levels so we are going to start a 3rd level planescape game. This time we hope to "win"

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't planescape even higher powered than ravenloft?
