Is there a reason people repeat that? I don't know WW very well (don't play Vampire or it's affiliates), but why would WW converting Dark Sun be such a boon, other then from the obvious fact that Dark Sun is now an official 3rd Edition setting?
This might be a little out there, but maybe its the license to that upcoming Kate Beckinsale movie "Underworld"..? Its apparently about an ancient war between vampires and werewolves, which of course hits two big WoD games. There's also lots of dark, gothic, Romeo & Juliet style angst.
Its probably not the case, due to the 'years in the making' comment, but thought I'd toss it out.
[Potential info] on RPG.net claims it's "Time of Judgement", the end of the WoD.
Not quite interesting enough for me to blow the dust off my bag of d10's.
From the thread:
"Regular schedule for the rest of the year. In January they're releasing a book called Gehenna. In February it's The Apocalypse. March is Ascension. Then there's a hardbound book called Time of Judgement.
After all that, they're redoing the World of Darkness entirely in the end of 2004. Probably something ala Orpheus, only for all the gamelines. As far as I know, this has no effect on Exalted or the Dark Ages games.
So, it's Gehenna, and a new edition. And that's all I know."
Redoing the WoD? Are they going to revise the setting and the Storyteller system? To me this just sounds like a way to republish the same material thats already been released, only "revised."
