[The End of the World of Darkness] What's White Wolf got up its sleeve?

Gutsy of them. I don't care how good a writer you are, if I was in charge I would not use a previously unpublished writer on something of this level. That's not a put-down on you or anything, just me being amazed.

I'm not an unpublished writer, though. I'm an unpublished novelist. In terms of RPG materials (supplements, setting books, modules, etc.), my list of writing credits--for Vampire, for other WoD lines, and for multiple D20 companies--is quite extensive. (Check the credits section of my web site if you're curious.) I've been working for White Wolf for nigh onto three years now--they know my writing.

And Even when the setting officially ends, you can play the official game as a period peice [1990's] to say nothing of the home games where the storyteller decides to use thier vision of the WOD.
Not really; if I've understood correctly, they are going to stop reprinting the WoD material, except for the dark ages and other past timeline stuff. This means that in a few years time it is going to become fairly difficult for a new player to start a Vampire campaign (oops, chronicle) - I think that of the whole operation, this is the weak point.

I'm not a big fan of the WoD, but I recognize it as one of the best game lines. It would be a pity to relegate it to eBay.

I hope they release the past manuals in the form of PDFs, like WotC did. It seems like a smart move. Maybe mouseferatu could suggest that. :D

Agreed with everything you said above (Except the "Not a big fan" part, I am :D ).

On the last part, their may be hope... If you check their online cataloge, they already have a handful of older books put up as .pdf files... some Werewolf, some Changeling, some Vampire... Not much, no, but it's a start...

But yeah, mouseferatu, make that your goal. Push that idea through. :)

Ari is _definitely_ not unpublished. As a long-time WoD fan-boy, I've seen his name for quite some time.

Well, keep in mind that WW have said, in their press release, that the end of the world will be followed some months later by an "all new World of Darkness." To quote Justin Achilli from the GenCon announcement, parts of this will look familiar, and parts will be very different.

Now, I'm not going to go into specifics about whether or not vampires (or werewolves, or anyone) are going to reappear, but I will say that the folks at WW aren't stupid. They're not going to make it impossible for themselves to attract the sorts of gamers who have formed, to date, such a large portion of their market.

Mouseferatu, congratulations!!

I think it would be ironic if anything like my suggestion on a recreated World of Darkness occurs. I think WW would not want to permanently kill off their cash cow. This may be somewhat like what DC Comics did in "Crisis of Infinite Earths" where they reset everything and set up a new continuity.

For those who care, BTW, I had the privilege (not to mention the gut-wrenching, mind-numbing terror) of writing the Gehenna novel

Congradulations.
It's almost as impressive as doing the Termana book ;)

The Sixth Great Maelstrom occured, wiping out everything and flinging some of the dead back to earth. Charon reappeared and then ascended. It was in "Ends of an Empire" or something close to that. Good book from what I hear.

You forgot the nuke's. They nuked the Black Hands city. (Enoch?)

They also nuked Ravnos.

So, Mouseferatu, how many nukes do you use in your book? :)

For me, I like Vampire & Hunter, and Werewolf sometimes. I just couldn't find an online game worth a ****. It all boiled down to freeform sex fantasy and my Tzimisce coroner was bored as sin.

Ah, that makes more sense then. I didn't mean it as a put-down (and I haven't been following WoD stuff much - my WW interest has mostly been in Exalted), I was just a little surprised.
