The sleeker it gets the less I like it. I like the idea of the “tall ship”, a capital naval ship. Somehow the sleeker ones, despite being much larger, feel smaller. (Well except when you put them next to each other like this!) Also you don’t need it to be sleek in space. These aren’t designed for dogfighting. I loved seeing the Enterprise D show up in Picard s3, but I wasn’t fond of the way they flew it like the Millenium Falcon into the Death St… err, Borg ship.

But hey. It’s all fictional space magic, and it’s all just taste. I know lots of people are fond of the later sleeker Starfleet ships. For me, I like those tall classical lines of the Constitution and the refit.

I've never liked the look of the Galaxy Class Enterprise. I'm a TOS guy but Refit is peak appearance, for me. The idea that a ship that travels in the vacuum of space needs to be aerodynamic strikes me as dumb, so the organic smoothing just doesn't work for me. they've got navigational deflectors and shields, and they're travailing in a near perfect vacuum, inside a warp bubble. They could b flying Borg bricks and it just wouldn't matter.

Very cool!

I’ll always be a fan of the original, TOS Enterprise, but they all have something special about them.

My second favorite design after the TOS Enterprise is actually the NX version. There’s just something about that design that I love. I was also a huge fan of the Akira class ship, which the NX Enterprise is closely modeled after …

The primary hull was aerodynamic in the event of atmospheric travel.
I am torn between the Constitution refit and the Galaxy class.

I'm a fan of the sleeker Enterprises. The E always felt large and imposing on-screen. The D had this magic trick of looking either big and powerful or sleek and fast depending upon the angle it was viewed from.

I've always liked the Ambassador class, it managed to truly feel like a transitional step between the Constitution and Galaxy class. Would have loved to see more of them in action.
