The extra action that (almost) never misses!

I don't have the Book of Nine Swords - but I'd love to hear more of this! Can you give the example?

On topic, I love the idea of insane combos - although I'm sure we'll see "The PC's toasted my BBEG in two rounds!" complaint threads when it starts happening. :)

I wonder if he's talking about War Master's charge?

Basically, it's a 9th level maneuver, so you'll be a really high-level group when you pull it off, but bascially, anyone within x feet of you all charge at the same time, in the same direction, on your turn, and every one of you does extra damage and don't provoke op-attacks. It's impressive as heck, and I hope to be able to use it one day. :)

It gives me visions of Pelennor Fields running though my head....

Yep, Warmaster's Charge is the move.

Potentially, it is the most devasting move in the entire book but in practice, I've never at my table or heard of anyone actually getting their teammates positioned and setup properly for this charge.

If you can actually get it to work to get that damage, I think you're entitled to every single bit of that damage because of the teamwork it required.

Paragon path Battle Mage or Shadow Assassin Action (+4 to attack rolls when you spend an action point) with the Action Surge feat (+3 to attacks on actions gained from action points) standing within sight of a tactical warlord ally (+ 1/2 warlord's Intelligence modifier on attack rolls for allies' attacks gained from spending an action point).

Net effect: +8 or higher, if the warlord has 18 or higher Intelligence.

Good thing he can only pull this off once per milestone, eh? ;)

For even better effect, do this after the warlord has used his Lead the Attack daily on the target for a further attack roll bonus of +1 on a miss, or warlord's Intelligence modifier +1 on a hit. For an Int 16 warlord, that's +9 on a miss and +12 on a hit. For an Int 18 warlord, that's +10 on a miss and +14 on a hit.

Just don't roll a natural 1, now...

A 3.5 bard with the Song of the Heart & Words of Creation feats, first level Inspirational Boost spell, and a couple of the cheap Badges of Valor can do this (and better), every battle, to the entire party, adding the bonus to damage as well.

I like it that such effects will find a place in 4e.

I wonder, though, if all the bonuses in the OP's original example will actually stack.
Based on the previews, the paragon path abilities and the warlord's class ability are unnamed bonuses. Lead the Attack provides a power bonus, and Action Surge probably provides a feat bonus, although this was not stated in the sample half-elf warlock's character sheet.

Assuming that unnamed bonuses still stack, you should be able to add them all up.

Your math is off. With an 18 int, that's +2, +4 for the ability, +3 for the surge = +9!!
Okay, that could have been expressed more clearly. What I meant was that the bonus would be higher than +8 if the warlord had an Intelligence of 18 or higher. :)
