D&D 5E The Fall of Blackmoor (IC)

Ngoya

Slowly Ngoya fades back from the others into the dark. These tribeless were being fools, did they not realise the damage wasps could do if angered. Reaching down to the ground she starts to cover her exposed skin in layers of mud, leaving only her eyes exposed.

It seemed clear to her that with the fall of Andus, there was an immediate loss in direction. They were standing around talking as if they had not just been attacked with comrades slain nearby. Did they not thirst for vengeance? Or was the blood of the tribeless not hot enough to feel the pain of loss?

Her spirit itched to be after the attackers and she made the decision to at least follow them to ensure they were not coming back.

[sblock=ooc] Ngoya will attempt to find the bike tracks or the tracks of the attackers. [roll0]

If she finds the tracks she will attempt to follow them, but not directly on the trail. She will approximate heading from the initial signs and then parallel the trail, crossing back to it periodically to makes sure she hasn't lost them. [roll1]

She intends to follow until she finds where they came from or a couple hours have passed at which point she will reasses.

Letting his face return to a more serious experssion, the changeling-in-the-guise-of-Gareth says to Jacobim, "Perhaps we could use those wasps to our advantage. Lead them to attack the bandits or something. Who's the fastest runner among us?"

"I like the way you think!" Jacobim replies. "My guess is that it would be Ngoya, but where is she?"

17A emerges from the tunnel to see a group of warriors nearby. The wasps are right behind 17A, following the warforged out.

Jacobim and the others see something that vaguely resembles the colossal golems used as expensive bodyguards by the nobility, but human sized, emerging from the tunnel A walking machine. Behind it are a swarm of dog-sized wasps.

Ngoya hears the wasps emerge in the open air. The motorcycle tracks are easier enough to follow and head north, in the direction the group was already headed.

OOC: The wasps are faster at flying than anyone in the group is at running. There are plenty of hiding places about, or you could try to take them on directly.

"Hide!" Jacobim tells the recruits close to him. He will hide behind a tree, and cast minor illusion of a bush to improve the cover. He'll try to ascertain how many wasps there are, and if they have a chance at killing them.

OOC: Question: can Jacobim see through his illusions (i.e. does he auto-disbelieve them)? If so, the bush will be well garnished, and if not, he'll create a minor hole with the illusory leaves so he can see through.

Din Din sees the massive wasps emerge behind a golemlike creature. Not waiting for the bugs to make their move, the changeling points his wand at the center of the swarm and mutters a short incantation in Sylvan. No magic is visibly coming from the wand; the only proof that it worked is the effect on the huge insects.

Immediately afterwards, Din Din runs to the spot behind the cart he hid himself in the earlier battle.

OOC: Sleep spell. Within 20 feet of the center of the swarm, [roll0] hit points of creatures are affected for 1 minute.

Forwing at the tracks heading north she pauses. 'We will meet again then.' she thinks to herself. Hearing the buzzing from back at the campsite and the raised voices of her friends she knocks an arrow and heads back. Ready to shoot any of the wasps.

OOC: So sorry for not being around. I've been sick for the last week or two and just haven't gotten onto the computer as much at home. That plus our internet access at work has been restricted, so I can't post from there anymore.

Jeremiah takes cover if there is any nearby, then fires a crossbow bolt at the nearest wasp he sees. His shot goes horribly awry though. He looks at his crossbow as if it has betrayed him, muttering "Must need to calibrate this thing again..."

17A continues to charge forward, unsure if these other creatures were hostile or not- with luck the wasps might spread out in the open air. But one could not run forever, the wasps were too fast...

After a short run, 17A spun and set into a ready stance, naginata in hand. If the wasps were going to attack, it would not be a one-sided fight...

[sblock= OOC] Move action in a straight line away from the opening, hopefully giving the wasps some room to spread out to other points (or targets); Action is to ready a naginata attack at the first wasp to approach into reach; 1d20+5 to hit, 1d10+3 slashing possible damage [/sblock]

OOC: I'm going to say that yes, you can see through your own illusions.

Two of the six wasps drift to the ground groggily and land clumsily, falling over on their sides as they succumb to magical sleep.

OOC: Roll initiative! 17A currently has an action readied to attack if the wasps get within range. If 17A's initiative is before the wasps, it can hold reready the same action or just attack normally. Ngoya will take one round to get within long range for her shortbow and another four rounds to get within normal range.
