D&D 5E (2014) The Fifth City - Episode 1: The Gathering

Sensing the discomfort of the various people in the room Felix shakes his head at the difficulty of ever finding true peace, when even this small group can barely stay in the same room. "Yes, I think a night on the town may do us all some good."

OOC: Do you want to roleplay out the evening out or possibly some investigations intermixed with the socializing or shall we jump ahead to the next day?

 

[Hannerdyn]

OOC: ...possibly some investigations intermixed with the socializing...

OOC: That sounds exciting.

 

[Queenie]

OOC: I think we should play out a little bit of socializing mixed with information gathering... we don't have to play out the whole night but it would give us a little more familiarity with each other. Plus, it would be funny to see Rhal and Lenya (and even Amisi) way out of their element lol. That's just my $.02!

OOC: the whole night, no, but as has been mentioned, intermixing the social with intelligence gathering would be good.

She casually takes one more sip of wine then speaks. "I think since our new guest may not have time for such endeavors in the future, we should postpone this serious conversation for another time. In my own enthusiasm to put the pieces together I have perhaps asked too much of those I know such little about. Let us just enjoy dinner then and go out seeking information and enjoyment like we planned." She sets her eyes on Lenya and watches her reactions closely. "I understand if you do not care to join us for dinner, our meals here in the Fifth City may be more rich than you are used to. We are going out after dinner to relax together if you'd instead like to join us for that."

Lenya's expression faltered for just a moment, a fleeting twinge of apparent frustration which was quickly brought under control. "Truly, I am sorry. It seems I cannot find the right words to express myself. I would like to spend time among those who are not like me, not like those I have spent most of my life with, and I would much rather be in the company of folk like yourselves, who have shown kindness instead of hatred. But I do not wish to make a commitment that I cannot keep, nor would I wish to draw upon the resources of your house, if they are limited." A brief flash of what might be an attempt to smile darted across her countenance. "I would go out into the city in your company, if you would allow it."

OOC: Willing to play through the evening as much as everybody feels like- can you say 'fish out of water'?

OOC: Places to go... The Green District docks feature a variety of taverns and other entertainments. The Red District has an opera house, currently playing The Sun Trident's Lament, as well as a few "high end" drinking and dining establishments. The Brown District is home to shadier entertainments.

 

[Scotley]

"Perhaps a stroll through the Green District would be best. I'm confident we can find a place that appeals to all there." He leaves unsaid that this diverse little group might be unwelcome in the higher class establishments of the Red and that the Brown might lead to problems he'd rather not discuss with his superiors.

 

[Queenie]

Amisi relaxes with the elf's answer, "Why Lenya of course you are welcome! Don't be silly! Of course you can spend all the time with us you'd like. We will help you learn your way around.

I am up for going anywhere. But I wonder, do you think we'll be able to get any possible information on the assassination there? I mean, in the Green District? I suppose you and Markus would know best."

"We have the brown district being vetted for information as we speak. I would enjoy the red district, but I could not allow such a luxury while I should be looking for trouble."
